Early Saturday morning Hope woke us up before 9 am and demanded we go get her bunny now. After an hour of getting ready and eating breakfast we were finally at the pet store. Hope was running around looking at the different pets they had, while I stood with Ivy and watched with a stupid smile on my face.

"Look how happy she is" I said looking up at Ivy, she was lost in her thoughts however, completely ignoring my words. I touched her arm and she flinched slightly before looking down at me and plastering a smile on her face. "Sorry Doll, what did you say?" she asked, I searched her face and frowned, "What's wrong my love?". Ivy shrugged and shook her head, "Nothing Doll, don't worry". How could I not worry when my Ivy had something on her mind? 

"Ivy I kno-", "Mommy I found it!", Hope cut me off running over to us. I looked away from Ivy and smiled down at her, "Did you? Well show me baby". Hope led us off to where the miniature bunnies were and pressed her face against the glass, "That one right there" she said mesmerised. I looked at the bunny that had her utter attention and laughed, it was in fact adorable. It had fluffy white fur with a black patch around one eye and both ears black, with a pair of bright blue irises. "Excuse me, we'd like that one" I called to the man behind the till, he smiled and came around. As soon as he handed Hope the bunny she lost the plot. 

"Wook at it! she's adorabwe!" she cooed stroking it's ears. "It's a boy" said the man smiling down at her, Hope's eyes widened and she started bouncing on her feet. "What are you going to name him?" Ivy asked leaning down to stroke the animal. Hope stuck her tongue out and thought hard for a while. 

"Batsy" she said proudly, I laughed with along with Ivy. "Why Batsy?" I asked curiously, "he has bwack ears and wooks wike a bat, I named him after uncle Bat" she explained. Thinking of it now, the name strangely suited the bunny, I nodded and smiled. Hope walked around dictating Ivy and I on what things her bunny needs, from food to the cage size. Overall we spent quite a price on everything, but it was worth every cent and Hope needed someone to keep her company. 

She held Batsy in her lap the whole drive home, they seemed to have already became the best of friends. The bunny sat patiently on her lap with it's nose twitching in that cute way, at home we set the cage up in Hope's room. She decorated it how she pleased and was now busy in her room trying to teach Batsy tricks. 

I was in the living room with Ivy, now was the perfect time to ask her what was on her mind. "Spill it Love, why did you space out like that in the pet store?" I questioned, she chewed on her bottom lip nervously then sighed and readjusted her seating. "I had a dream last night, that he-" she paused shaking her head, I moved closer to her and grabbed her hand, interlocking our fingers together. "Hey love it was just a dream" I said stroking my thumb across her hand, she shook her head and tears pooled in her green eyes. 

"Doll it felt so real, he was here, he took Hope an-", she covered her mouth with her hand as a sob ripped from her body. I leaned up and pulled her to me, she nuzzled her head in the crook of my neck and I stoked her hair as she cried. My heart hurt when I watched her like this, I couldn't bare to see her still in pain after what he did. Watching the person you love go through something like this was just too much. After she stopped crying, she pulled back and I wiped her cheeks with my hands. 

"I just don't want anything to happen to our family" she murmured, I smiled and kissed her lips. "Nothing will happen to us, it's been 5 years Ivy, he's gone" I assured, but somehow my mind was having sudden doubts. What if he wasn't?..

"Bruce is coming over tomorrow with Selina and her daughter, we can talk to him if that will ease your mind?" I suggested, Ivy nodded and smiled. "What would I do without you?" she said chuckling, I kissed her nose, "You'll never have to find out, I'll always be here with you my love". 

"Forever?". 

"Forever and always".
