HOPE. (HarleyXIvy)

Chapter 4

Two days have gone by since Bruce visited, Ivy had eased up slightly about Joker and I only grew more paranoid. I tried not to let it show too much around Ivy, I didn't want to worry her more just when she began to relax again. Ivy was at work and I had the day off, Hope was in school again and that gave me the chance to go shopping, I needed to fill the kitchen up. 

I got dressed in a pair of shorts and a white, long sleeved top. I put on my converse and after throwing my hair up in a ponytail I left the house. The store wasn't far from our home so I decided to walk, the weather was quite nice today too. When I got to the store my skin suddenly felt strange as a feeling crawled over me. I had no idea what it was but it made me feel really suffocated, I looked around me but nothing particular caught my eyes. I took a deep breath in and cleared my mind, stepping into the store. 

I did the shopping, scanning  my mind for things Hope asked me to get her to eat. "Lucky charms" I said to myself as I remembered we were out and Hope only ate those. I pushed the full kart to the cereal section and then scanned the shelves for Lucky charms. Once I found it I groaned when it was on the highest shelve, I was only around 5'6 I couldn't reach that. I stood on my toes and stretched out my hand, my fingers nudged the box and it dropped to the ground. 

I reached down but a hang shot out and picked it up instead, "Aren't you clumsy Harleen" my body froze. Only one person called me Harleen, I slowly looked up and I thought I'd faint from relief when I saw it wasn't him. "Hey Mark, yea perks of being short" I said laughing, he passed me the box and I threw it into my kart looking back up at him. "How's the family?" he asked smiling, "Hope is great and Ivy is working as always, what about Anna?" I answered. "Yea she's doing good too, third baby is really playing on her nerves these days", I laughed and he chucked too shaking his head. Mark was the father of the twins that Hope went school with, his wife Anna was pregnant with their third child. 

"Ivy and I are planning on having another one too" I said feeling myself relax, his eyes widened and he gave me a genuine smile. "Well congratulations, and good luck with that" he said before he excused himself and went to find his wife. As soon as he left I rubbed my temple feeling a headache come about, my paranoia was being a real bitch right now. I wanting nothing more but to go home and cuddle my wife, being around her always made me feel better. 

On the way home I stopped to pick up Hope, when I saw her come out of her class I frowned at the sad expression on her face. She stood before me with her head slumped down facing the ground, I squatted down to be level with her. I lifted up her chin and smiled, "what happened baby?" I asked. She sighed heavily and looked into my eyes, "Denis Carter puwwed on my pig taiws today" she mumbled. I cocked my head to the side trying to hide my smirk, "and why did Denis do that?" I asked, she shrugged and sighed again. "Honestwy mommy, I think he's jeawous of them" with that she walked past me to the car and hopped in. 

I laughed because I knew exactly why Denis Carter teased Hope and pulled her pig tails. Denis had a little crush on my little girl and she was completely oblivious to it. At home Hope helped me cook dinner for us and for when Ivy came home, when I say help I mean she sat on the counter and criticised me every second. Ivy came home just as we finished setting the table, she kissed Hope on the forehead then smirked when she saw me. 

"There's my sexy wifey" she purred walking over to me, she caged me against the kitchen counter and attacked my mouth with hers. Hope ran into her room screaming as if she'd seen a ghost and we just laughed against each other's lips. "How was work my love?" I asked, she tucked the loose strands of my hair behind my ear and stroked the back of my neck with her finger. "It was good, had a big order for tiger lilies" she said, I stilled momentarily then pushed the thought from my mind. Tiger lilies were a sign, one from my past. 

"You okay Doll" Ivy asked frowning,  I nodded and kissed her nose. "I'm peachy, now let's eat" I lied, her eyes grew darker and she leaned closer to my ear. "The only thing I wanna eat is you but if you insist Doll" she murmured, shivers ran down my spine and I had to grip the counter or I'd melt to the ground. Ivy winked and pushed herself away from me, God was my lady hot. 

With just one sentence she managed to make all my nerves vanquish...
