I was selfish. I wanted you all to myself. So how did you expect me to let you go so easily?

❝Finn!❞

My eyes met with someone towering over me, snapping me out of my thoughts. "C'mon, man. We have to go line up on stage. Stephanie and Mick need to talk to everyone." Sami or also known as my bestfriend, held his hand out for me to grab.

I grabbed his hand and he helped me up to my feet, "Do you know what she's going to talk about?" I asked, rubbing my eyes and fixing my jacket.

He shrugged, "Maybe about the new title. I don't know," He then gestured me to follow him towards the line of superstars going through the curtains. We followed them until we were lined up on the stage.

Stephanie and Mick started talking and I was paying attention but I wasn't listening if that makes sense. I was too distracted, staring at her, the one who left me without saying a word. And that was almost a year ago.

And I still haven't moved on from it.

"Rusev, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and Finn Bálor." I stepped out to the front of the line and popped out my collar as I stared down at the ring. She explained about the fatal-4-ways and who ever wins becomes the number one contender.

Soon after, she finished speaking, dismissing the roster from the stage. I past through the crowd of people to see her walking down the hallway. "Should I go and talk to her now? Or should I not?" I was contemplating whether I should or not. My heart was telling me to go but my mind told me otherwise.

I found myself walking to catch up I with her but Sami called my name. "Dammit why does he need me now?"

I turned around to see him with his hands on his hips and glaring at me, "Bad idea, Finn." Yeah, Sami knows about the whole thing.

He's the one who has kept me stable throughout all of it so I'm grateful for him. But not at this time, "It's not a bad idea. I need to talk to her at some point."

"I know but not now. She has a match to worry about and if you two start fighting—

"Like hell if I care about her match! I need to speak to her." I was starting to get angry and he knows not to make me mad. "You're only worrying about yourself, Finn." He remained calm even though I was screaming at him.

I didn't reply because I knew he was right. That's the only thing I hated about Sami, he was always right and he was never wrong. He crossed his arms and raised his eyebrow, "Let's go get our minds off of this." He suggested before gesturing me to follow him.

He began walking down the hall, "Where are we going?" He stopped and turned around to look at me. "Somewhere. Now let's go."

"But who's the longest reigning NXT Champion?" I pointed at myself, confidently as Sami, Kevin, and Adrian brushed me off. "Shut up, Finn. That's why I'm going to destroy you tonight." Kevin said as Adrian chuckled. "That's what you think." I responded with an amused huff, Adrian nodding in agreement.

"Exactly, I mean, who could defeat the one and only Finn Bálor?" Adrian asked Kevin as Sami let a laugh leave his mouth and I did my taunt. "Samoa Joe did."

"Yeah, but who did I beat to win the NXT Championship?" I dodged his last sentence by asking my own question. Kevin's lips curved into a smile, "I hate you."

Everyone at the table laughed but I abruptly stopped when I saw her walking into the catering area with the championship on we shoulder. "She did it." I mumbled, under my breath while a smile grew on my face. Sami seem to catch on as he looked back to see her as well.

"Finn—

"No, I need to talk to her now." I immediately got up from the table and began to walk over to her but someone grabbed my arm. Sami, of course. "Finn, it's a bad idea—

"I don't care." I pulled my arm away and walked over to her. I tapped her shoulder and she turned around to look at me. She was overwhelmed with emotion so it took her a moment to realize who she had turned to, her eyes widening at the sight. "We need to talk."

"And you still are."
