Chapter 9: Hallucinations

In Tails' living room 4 p.m.

"What was that?" Rouge asked and looked in the direction of the guest room. "I haven't heard anything." Amy replied and Sonic said "Me neither." "I heard it too. I came from the guest room I think." Tails said. "Maybe Shadow woke up." Sonic said and Rouge began to smile. "I'll look if he's okay." Rouge said. "Hey, wait for us." Amy yelled after Rouge and also began to run.

Rouge was the first who entered the room and only saw Shadow in the corner behind his bed. He starred in the middle of the room and Rouge asked "Shadow, are you okay?" "You look like you've seen a ghost." Sonic said with a grin. Amy saw that Sonic was laughing and slapped him on the back of his head. "Ouch!" Sonic said and looked at Amy who glared at him. "Sorry." Sonic said while rubbing his head. Rouge rolled her eyes and sat down in front of him. "Shaodw, what happened?" Rouge asked. Shadow looked her into her eyes and told her what happened.

Flashback

Shadow woke up because he thought that someone was watching him. He sat up and looked if anyone was near him but he saw no one. Shadow laid down again and closed his eyes. A few seconds later he heard footsteps and sat up again. At the end of the bed was a person and Shadow said "No, ... that can't be, I have destroyed you. I'm just dreaming." "No, I'm real, Shadow. You aren't dreaming." the person said and went closer to Shadow. "You probably know why I'm here." the person said and took a knife, which he had hidden behind his back, and pointed it at Shadow. "Leave me alone Mephiles. I'll never join you." Shadow said and he backed away until he flew out of his bed. Mephiles went closer to Shadow until he was in a corner. "You're weak. Remeber that I will find you and then you'll join me, otherwise you'll regret it." Mephiles said and dissapeared. Shadow was still sitting in the corner, staring into the middle of the room where Mephiles disappeared.

End of Flashback

"... and then you came in." Shadow said, still sitting in the corner of the room. "Mephiles is back?" Rouge asked shocked. "But that would be terrible!" Amy said and looked at Sonic. Sonic looked thoughtful and asked "Shadow, could it be that you've all imagined?" "What! Do you really think that I made up everything. And why should I do that?" Shadow asked angry. "It could be possible. According to my researches, hallucinations are also symptoms of a bite from a Heloderma." Tails said. "But I have no hallucination, it was real." Shadow replied and looked at Rouge. Rouge also looked at Shadow and put her hand on his forehead. "Shadow, you have a high fever." Rouge said. "You destroyed Mephiles and he'll never come back again." Amy said. "Yeah, and because of your fever you've imagined Mephiles." Sonic said and walked a bit closer to Shadow. "Sonic, I think you shouldn't have said that." Tails said as he saw Shadows look.

Shadow was about to slap Sonic again. Sonic dodged it and started running but in his panic he forgot that the door was closed and he bumped into the door. "Ouch." Sonic said and landed on the floor. Rouge and Tails began to laugh and Shadow said "Idiot." "Sonic!" Amy said worried and ran to his side. "Are you okay?" Amy asked and helped Sonic to get up. "Yeah, I'm fine." Sonic replied while rubbing his nose. Two minutes later they all went into the kitchen to cook dinner.

In Tails' living room 8 p.m.

Tails went out of the kitchen and said "I'm going to bed, good night." "Good night Tails." Sonic said. "Sleep well." Amy said. "And I'll take a shower and then I'm going to bed like Shadow and Tails." Rouge said and went to the bathroom. "Do you want to watch a movie?" Sonic asked. "Yes, why not." Amy replied and sat down beside Sonic. "I'll go and make popcorn and you can choose a movie in the meantime." Sonic said and ran into the kitchen and Amy nodded. Five minutes later Sonic came back with the popcorn and Amy started the film. They watched 'Sinister'. Amy chose a horror movie to cuddle with Sonic, so nobody would think that they are together now.

Rouge came out of the bathroom and saw what Sonic and Amy were watching. Amy screamed and cuddled closer to Sonic. "That wasn't even scary." Sonic said and he looked at Amy. "You can't tell me that you weren't scared." Amy replied. "What? ... I and scared? I think you don't know how's sitting beside you. I'm not scared of any horror movies." Sonic said. "If you say so." Amy replied. "That will be fun." Rouge thought and chuckled quietly. Rouge flew quietly behind the couch and waited until the movie was over.

"See, I haven't screamed once. Which proves that I'm not afraid of horror movies." Sonic said and both stood up. Suddenly someone grabbed Sonics shoulder and Sonic jumped behind Amy. Sonic and Amy heard someone laugh and turned around to see who it was. "Hahahaha ... Sonic ... hahaha ... you screamed like a girl ... hahahaha." Rouge said while laughing and Amy also began to giggle. "Rouge! ... That wasn't funny." Sonic said angry, still standing behind Amy. Rouge and Amy were now lying on the ground and laughed. "Hey, stop laughing." Sonic said even angrier. "Hahahaha ... okay, okay, ... we'll stop ... hahaha." Amy said and stopped laughing. "Hahaha ... if you insist ... hahaha." Rouge said and started going away. "I'm going to bed, good night." Rouge said. "Good night." Amy said and Sonic just said "Would have been better if you had done this before." Sonic said angry but Rouge ignored him.

Rouge went into the guest room and looked at Shadow. Shadow turned his head back and forth and he was breathing quickley. He also was sweaty and Rouge know that something was wrong.
