Chapter 5: A day with the gang part two

At the beach 10:59 a.m.

Silver and Blaze were playing volleyball against Sonic and Knuckles. "How can we lose ... again?" Knuckles asked. "If you wouldn't be so slow, we wouldn't lose all the time." Sonic replied. "Even if Knuckles would be faster, you wouldn't have a chance against us." Silver interrupted. "Shut up!" both Sonic and Knuckles said at the same time. "Boys, stop arguing and continue playing!" Blaze commanded and started playing again. She wore a violet bikini.

Tails and cream were building a sandcastle while Amy and Tikal made sandwiches and Chilidogs for Sonic. Cream wore an orange bikini, Amy a pink one and Tikal's bikini was green. "Can you get Tails and Cream while I go and get Sonic and the others?" Amy asked Tikal as she put the last sandwich down. "Sure." Tikal replied already leaving.

"Hey guys, food's ready!" Amy said. "Finally." Knuckles said angry because he lose again. "Yes ... Chilidogs I'm coming." Sonic said as his stomach growled. "Hey, wait for us!" Silver said and started running after Sonic and Knuckles. "Did Sonic and Knuckles lose again?" Amy asked Blaze. "Bingo." Blaze replied and they start running after the boys. "Food is ready." Tikal said to Tails and Cream. "We're coming Ms. Tikal." Cream replied politely.

At the beach 11:05 a.m.

"I wonder why Shadow and Rouge aren't here yet." Sonic said while eating his third Chilidog. "Don't worry, I'm sure they will be here any second." Amy assured him. Two seconds later there was a bright light and Shadow and Rouge stood in front of them. "I told you so." Amy said. "Hello you two." Tikal said cheerfully. "Hi guys. Sorry we're late, a certain black hedgehog overslept." Rouge said looking at Shadow. "Hmph!" he said. "Hey sleepyhead, you look terrible, what happened?" Sonic asked as he saw his bandages and his scratches on his cheek. "First, that's not my name. And second, that's none of your business." Shadow hissed at Sonic. "Shadow be nice. He fought against a lizard-like guy on our last mission." Rouge explained. "Ooh! Come and eat something before nothing is left." Silver said while he was pointing at Sonic. All began to laugh, except for Sonic and Shadow. "Very funny." Sonic said annoyed. Shadow and Rouge sat down and began to eat.

"I have an idea. We could make bets for the race." Blaze said. "Yeah, good idea." Tails replied. "And if Sonic loses, he has to go on a date with Amy." Knuckles said and Amy's smile got even bigger. "And what if Shadow loses." Tikal asked. "If Shadow loses, he has to go on a date with Rouge." Silver replied and Rouge only blushed. "Hey! Do I also have a say or not?" Sonic asked annoyed. "No you don't." Tails replied laughing. Shadow don't even listened to them because he felt sick and a little dizzy. He stopped eating and put his half sandwich away and thought "What's wrong with me?" Shadow was pulled out of his thoughts as Cream asked "Are you okay Mr. Shadow?" "Yes, why shouldn't I?" he asked. "Because you have only eaten half a sandwich." Cream replied. "Because I'm not hungry, that's all." Shadow said annoyed and started going away. "Did I say something wrong?" Cream asked Tails. "No, that's just Shadow." Tails replied. Rouge watched Shadow as he went to a tree and thought "Something's wrong with him." "Is it just me, or acts Shadow a bit different?" Amy asked also watching the black hedgehog. "He acted differently the whole day. Normally he doesn't need much sleep but today he has slept most of the morning." Rouge replied.

At the beach 11:20 a.m.

Shadow sat under a tree, so that the others couldn't see him. He held his right forearm, because he was hurting again. When he took his hand away he saw some blood on the bandage. "I think that it's still blood from yesterday and I just didn't noticed it." Shadow thought.

"Fine, if I lose, what ... of course ... will never happen, I will go out with her." Sonic said. "Who do you think will win?" Tikal asked. "I bet five rings that Sonic will win." Knuckles said. "And Cream and I bet ten rings that it will be a draw." Tails said. "Like every time." Cream added. "I bet five rings that Sonic will win because Shadow is injured and therefore slower than Sonic." Tikal said. "Don't underestimate him. Even if Shadow's hurt, he won't lose. I bet five rings that Shadow will win." Rouge replied. "I bet twenty rings that Sonic wins, even if it means I wouldn't have a date with him." Amy said while looking at Sonic. "We're the same opinion as Rouge." Silver replied. "We bet ten rings that Shadow will win." Blaze said.

Shadow heard the whole conversation and headed back to the others. "When does the race begin?" Shadow asked. "It'll start after they are done with their betting." Sonic replied. "Okay." Shadow replied. Everyone gave Cream the rings and they turned to Sonic and Shadow. "We're done." They said at the same time.
