August Amanda Gaines – A Fourth Society prodigy. Allegedly guilty of a heinous crime

Elizabeth Florence Annan (Aunty) – Kwame's Aunt, a university lecturer
Ewuresi Hagan - Kwame's childhood sweetheart, a lawyer.
Nathaniel Sparrow – Someone to whom Kwame owes some very hefty favours
Kuuku Hagan – Elizabeth's TA, Ewuresi's younger brother, and a general pain in the neck
The Chechnyan – An 'anthropologist' who hunts for some particularly elusive quarry
