After defeating the Gedoushuu.....the Shinkengers transformed out of their Shinkenger forms and made their way back to the Shiba Mansion to celebrate their victory. While walking back home, Ryuunosuke trailed behind, taking out the engagement ring from his pocket. Kotoha looked back at Ryuunosuke and ran back to him.
"Ryuu-san...everything alright?" Kotoha asked.
Ryuunosuke smiled at Kotoha. "Yes I am."
Kotoha looked at the engagement ring in the blue samurai's hand. Kotoha was the only one that knew that Ryuunosuke planned to propose to Chiaki. They've been together for three years since being in the Shiba Mansion. They did not get along at first and would often clash because of their very different personalities but as the months go by when they started to know a lot more about each other, romantic feelings surfaced between them. Kotoha was a bit worried about how Xianghua would react. She already didn't approve of the relationship and just warmed up to it after Chiaki told her how much he loved him. She knew Chiaki was bisexual and she was okay with it because that's her twin brother and they're closer than most twin siblings.
"Are you gonna do it?" Kotoha asked.
Ryuunosuke shook his head which made Kotoha smile and clap her hands in glee.
"Yes I am.....I've never felt more confident in years." Kotoha smiled before hearing Chiaki say. "Hey come on slowpokes!"
Ryuunosuke put the ring back in his pocket before he and Kotoha caught up with their comrades.
"What were you guys talkin about?" Chiaki asked.
"Nothing." Both Ryuunosuke and Kotoha said in unison.
"Doesn't sound like nothing, whatever you know I'm gonna find out." Chiaki laughed as he took Ryuunosuke's hand in his.
"You will soon Chiaki......" Kotoha thought.
Later that night at the Shiba Mansion, the Shinkengers and Jii had just finished dinner. As the kuroko grabbed all the dirty dishes, Ryuunosuke stood up.
"Everyone......I have an announcement to make." They all turned their attention to Ryuunosuke.
"What is it Ryuunosuke-tachi?" Mako asked.
Ryuunosuke took Chiaki's hand and helped him up as he stood face to face with his lover.
"Tono-sama....everyone......as you all know Chiaki and I have been together for quite a while now."
"How can we forget? We could hear ya from your room every night!" Riyu laughed with a sexy wink.
Both Ryuunosuke and Chiaki blushed. "As I was saying......there's something that I've wanted to do for a while now. Chiaki.....since we first came to the Shiba Mansion and met each other, I thought of you as just a slacker. I did not like you at all. But as the months went by......I got to know you and who you really are. You're funny, care-free, youthful and kind and I knew that I found the person I wanted to be with."
Chiaki gasped as well as the other Shinkengers as Ryuunosuke got down on one knee.
"Tani Chiaki.....will you marry me?" Chiaki was at a loss for words.
"Holy shit!!" Riyu exclaimed which earned her a glare from Takeru. Mako wiped her tears with her sleeve, Kotoha was clapping cheerfully and Xianghua was smiling surprisingly.
"Oi! Chiaki say something!" Genta exclaimed. Chiaki shook his head.
"Yes.....fuck yes I'll marry you!"
Ryuunosuke smiled as he put the ring on Chiaki's finger and they shared a passionate kiss.
"They're getting married!!!!!" Genta cheered.
Kotoha, Mako and Riyu all got up to congratulate the newly-engaged couple as Jii and Takeru clapped. Chiaki looked over at Xianghua and saw that not only she was crying, but she was also clapping and smiling. She got up and hugged her twin brother, kissing him on the cheek.
"I gotta go call dad!" Xianghua said as she ran to her room to call the twins' father, Kurando Tani.
As the rest of the Shinkengers went into their rooms to go to sleep, Ryuunosuke and Chiaki were in the blue samurai's room, laying together. Chiaki's head on his fiancé 's shoulder.
"So.......how will this work? Will I be Chiaki Tani-Ikenami or you be Ryuunosuke Ikenami-Tani?" Chiaki asked.
"Hey! I proposed to you so you should take my last name!" Ryuunosuke exclaimed.
Chiaki hit him over the head.
"Baka! You can still take my last name! We're both men and same-sex marriages are legal in Japan....unless Jii or Neesan wants to be the priest or whatever."
They both shared a laugh as they shared another kiss before sleep took over them both.
