Chapter 13- A Bond Unbroken

Riyu knew that her actions back at the Kamen Rider World were very uncalled for and she may have serious consequences later but right now, she felt like she was on top of the world. When you mess with her or the people you care about, it's a guarantee that she'll make them pay.

"Riyu!" The black Shinkenger turned around to look at the 19th head of the Shiba Clan stand on the porch of the Shiba Mansion.

"What do you want?" Riyu mumbled.

"Look I know you're still mad at me but I just have to ask...where did you go with Genta?" Takeru asked.

"And why is that any of your damn business?" 

"Because you're my comrade and my close friend! I care about you." Riyu scoffed at that comment.

"I'm sorry that I broke your heart and our promise, but you can't deny the unbroken bond that we have." Riyu stood up face to face with her now-former lover.

"What bond? The only thing I'm seeing in a few moments are severed ties. This is exactly why I don't want this to happen because you can't stay away from that Kamen Rider. And I told him that to his fucking face." Takeru looked questionably at Riyu.

"What do you mean you told him that to his face?"

"You wanted to know where I was so damn badly I was at his world, the Kamen Rider World and I slapped the shit out of him for fucking what's mine! Nobody takes what's mine and expects to get away with it. I love you and only you and it kills me to see you in another person's arms. I just-" Takeru stopped Riyu by putting his hand on her cheek.

"I know how you feel. I felt the exact same way when you died. Akumaro took you away from me when he stabbed you in the stomach. Seeing Xianghua cradling you covered in your blood, it really shook me to the core I was angry.....angry that you went off to finish Akumaro on your own disobeying my orders but.....seeing you like that......I-" Riyu remembered that day when her life had ended tragically by her hated rival and how traumatized Xianghua was when she held her body. She remembered that night, what Takeru had said to Jii when she looked outside in her onryo form.

"Tono, you should get some sleep." Jii said worriedly as Takeru looked out in the night sky at the twinkling stars.

"Riyu's death is not your fault Tono. She would not want you to make yourself suffer like that." Takeru stayed silent.

"I've never seen you so broken before. Something tells me that Riyu is very special to you. She's more than an retainer to you is she not?"

"She is....more than that." Jii raised his eyebrows in question.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean she is very special to me. I.....love her."

"Really?" Takeru shook her head.

"Riyu is different. She is brave, strong-willed, beautiful. She is the best of all of us. After my battle with Juuzou, she never left my side. I wanted that so much, for her to stay by my side. I don't care if it was forever, I just wanted her to be with me." Onryo Riyu shed a few tears. She always wanted to know how Takeru truly felt about her, now she knew. And she couldn't tell him that she felt the same way because she was dead.

"Do you want another chance at life? To feel your lord's embrace?" Riyu turned around to see her ancestor, Hisako Hattori.

"I chose my path and it cost me my death. Akumaro deserves to perish for what he did to our family!"

"I feel your rage Riyu, but that same rage that got you killed, killed me as well. I was the same as you....determined, courageous but also very short-tempered. You are still very young Riyu." "So were you Kasumi." Riyu called out her long-forgotten name. Hisako shook her head.

"I died long ago. It's been centuries since my death. You deserve to live again Riyu and I can see it in your eyes that you do want to be alive, you want to tell your lord your true feelings and to be with your friends again. I can give that to you but I need your half-Onryo blood. But just remember this, sometimes you always need your comrades. In life and in battle." Riyu shook her head as she felt herself fade away. Moments later, she woke up, once again flesh, once again human and....alive.

Riyu took Takeru's hand in hers. "I remember and I wouldn't trade this moment for anything." Riyu pressed her lips to Takeru's, her tongue slipping in his mouth for a passionate but very emotional kiss. As they pulled apart, Takeru took Riyu's hand and led her back into the Shiba Mansion.
