As You Are (Kim Taehyung Story)

Chapter 22

Taehyung and I made our way to meet his old friend. We decided to just walk as the weather is nice and the destination isnt that far. After about 10 minutes of walking and talking, we walked in silence. It wasn't an awkward, uncomfortable silence but it was rather a peaceful silence, where we're just enjoying each other's company. I'm not sure if its just me, but I felt Taehyung kept walking nearer and nearer to me with every step that we took. But I just ignored it. Just a few seconds later, Taehyung cleared his throat and asked, "Can- can I hold your hand?" "DUH OF COURSE YOU CAN. YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO ASK" I SAID, to myself. But in reality, I just smiled and nod my head. Taehyung then happily took my hand and held it tightly. I will never get over how huge his hands is and how it fits mine perfectly. I dont ever wanna let go. 

"Uhm, Tae? Are we gonna be there soon? I feel like we've been walking for ages"

"We're reaching, my princess"

HOLD UP. Did he just said "my princess"? 

"Next time, if you wanna call me with such names, please give me a warning so that I wont suffer from shock" I joked and Taehyung only laughed. 

We've finally reached the cafe where we're supposed to meet his old friend, whom I then know that her name is "Lee Sohyeon". I waited nervously and I dont even know why I was feeling nervous. 

"Why are you looking so nervous?" Taehyung suddenly asked. 

"Huh? What? Nervous? No, I'm not nervous"

"Yes you are. Don't worry alright? There's nothing to be nervous about. She's nice, i can assure you that. And I dont why but i'm feeling that you are being insecure right now. Listen here. You are beautiful, amazing, lovely, the most lovable person i've ever known, you're kind, you're nice and you're everything that I could ever wish for" Taehyung took my hand and kissed it. I could only smile and not gonna lie, I felt much much at ease now. 

A few minutes later, Sohyeon came and without saying anything first, Taehyung immediately introduced me to her. "Hey Sohyeon! I would like you to meet my amazing, girlfriend, Hyejin" My heart flattered upon hearing him introducing me as his girlfriend. I reached out my hand and not as what i expected, Sohyeon was a nice girl. Instead of just shaking my hands, she gave me a hug too. 

"So, what did you asked me out for?" Taehyung asked Sohyeon after we ordered drinks. 

"Okay. Uhm, actually I just wanted to so called introduce you to uhm, a special someone. So like, since its been long since i met you, I figured why not introducing him to you, right?"

"Ahhhh, special someone. Where is he at now?"

"He's reaching soon!"

"Is this like a double date?" I tried to joke. 

"Well, you can say so. Impromptu double date!" Sohyeon replied with much enthusiasm. 

I was talking to Taehyung while Sohyeon went to "pick" her special someone up from putside of the cafe when we heard a male voice greeting us. The voice sounded familiar. I quickly looked up and got the shock of my life. 

"JOOHEON?!?!?!?!?!"

"HYEJIN?!!??! TAEHYUNG?!?!?!?!"

"WHAT?!"

"WHAT!? HOW!?"

If there's someone that would feel most at lost, it would be Sohyeon. She was just standing there, shocked and confused at what was happening. 

"You guys know each other?" She finally asked. 

"YES!!! I mean, yes, we both do know Jooheon. Especially me. Jooheon and I have been good friends since we're very young!" 

"Wait, what? So, you two...." Taehyung pointed at both Jooheon and Sohyeon. 

I let out a loud gasp. "So, you are the girl that Joo-"

"Ahahaha no. Nothing. What are you talking about. L-lets sit and order more drinks or cupcakes or whatever" Jooheon shut my mouth with his hand.

After a couple of minutes, I then realised whats really going on. And I am truly happy for Jooheon. With the girl being Sohyeon, it makes everything much easier for Taehyung and I. As she is Taehyung's friend, its easier to plan something that is much of her interest!

The "double date" went well. After eating, Taehyung and I excused ourselves first so that we wont be disturbing the two lovebirds. We decided to have a walk around the park first before making our way home. 

"Its surprising isn't it?" Taehyung asked as he smiled to himself. 

"What's surprising?"

"Surprising that the girl you were jealous of turns out to be your bestfriend's soon-to-be girlfriend"

"I wasnt jealous!!"

"You were" he winked

"I was not being jealous. Dont try to put me in the bad side when you're the one who is at wrong" I walked faster. 

Taehyung then grabbed my hand "Okay okay, I'm sorry. I didnt mean to say that. I was just kidding! I'm sorry okay?" he squished my face. 

Seriously, how can I ever stay mad at this kid. 

He continued as we walk hand-in-hand. 

"Hyejin... I just want you to know that my life has change so much because of you. Once, I thought that I can never be happy ever again. I told myself that I am alone and I need to learn how to be alone. I told myself that I dont need anyone else. That I am better off alone, I can make myself happy. And its also fine if I wont feel happy ever again because even if i'm happy, there's no use. But, now, everything is different"

"Now, I have you. You taught me to find happiness again. You taught me to live life again. You taught me things that I never would be able to learn when I was alone. You have no idea how happy I am whenever I am with you. I- I cant put into words on how much I want to protect and take care of you. You are the first and the last thing that is on my mind every single day. You made me a better person and there's so much more that I need to learn from you. I want spend more and more days and years with you. So Hyejin, would you walk through this journey with me? Will you officially be my girlfriend?"

Tears are already forming in my eyes. I cant describe how happy I am. I cant describe how grateful I am. 

"I too, want to spend more minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years with you. I will, walk this journey with you. I will try my very best to be the best girlfriend for you. You need to know that you are the reason on why I've been so happy and positive. We can learn from each other. The most important things is to trust and love each other unconditionally. If there's something off, lets talk about it to each other instead of keeping it in, okay? Thank you, for everything" now my tears are making my cheeks wet. 

Taehyung wiped it off and hugged me. "I love you, Hyejin"

Its a lie if I said that I wasnt shock hearing those three words coming from Taehyung. More tears of happiness came. I hugged him tighter. 

"I love you too, Kim Taehyung"
