Bullet's Hero

Chapter 2.

Every two hours you fail to deliver my package, Bullet here gets a new injury. Tick tock.

Every two hours closer to death. Holder couldn't let that happen. He messed this up, he was going to fix it. He punched the engine and jetted towards the police station. He wasn't going to get and turn in Carl to Chase just yet. If he could trace the call back to Chase, he could possibly get a location and save Bullet. Without releasing a criminal and giving the satisfaction to Chase. Get the element of surprise. Holder set a timer on his phone for two hours. Two hours he hoped he didn't pass over. As he drove to the station, he kept replaying his and Bullet's argument. The last full and nice conversation they had. He hoped they would have more. But he was so cruel, mean, and indignant. He hoped Bullet would forgive the fellow officer.

Then the lights of the police station came into view and he pulled into the parking lot. He gathered his things and put his gun into his holster. But as he stepped out of the car and about to open the glass door, he phone rang.  A message. He check his dim watch and saw it hadn't been two hours yet. The officer pulled out the mobile device and saw a message from an unknown number. Chase.

No police. No agents. None of that sort or Bullet gets an early retirement.

Damn it. Holder thought this would happen but didn't actually want it to become. His options were becoming small. But how did Chase know he was going to the police? He checked his phone for a bug but came empty. His timer showed 20 minutes left. He didn't have much time.

What am I going to do? Linden. I can talk to Linden. She doesn't count as a detective since she's taking some time off. Right? Hopefully.

The drive back to the place was about 30 minutes. Holder had to hurry.

Time was of the essence.
