Chpater 8: The Newbies

3rd Person View

"ARE YOU SURE THESE ARMORS ARE THE RIGHT SIZE?!" Riley groaned while she was wearing her armor, that was twice as heavy as her, but it fitted her just right. "Relax, you'll get used to it eventually." Lyca reassured her. "Okay guys," Lyra started, "Pick your weapons. Lyca and I can create your desired weapon with magic." They both winked and they had transformed into what beings seemed like 'angels'. Lyra was the white-colored angel, while Lyca was the black-colored angel. They then both said, "Go ahead you guys, pick your weapons!" Zhion looked down and said, "I'd go for a massive dual blade." Lyca snapped her finger, and gave Zhion the black-colored massive dual blade. "I'VE ALWAYS WANTED A LIGHT-CHARGED BOW AND ENERGY ARROWS!!" Riley exclaimed. Lyra clapped her hands twice and had formed her hand in the shape of a bow, and summoning the bow's physical form. She handed it over to Riley and she smiled. Lastly, Marcus said, "I think I'll go for a battle axe." Lyra was about to summon a weapon when Lyca interrupted her. She quickly snapped her fingers and had summon a battle axe and handed it over to Marcus, "H-here, I gave my best shot." Marcus flashed a smile and took the weapon, "Thanks." "Okay guys, time to head out there and be one of the knights. Let's train train train!" The five had headed out to the training yard and began to practice.

"OKAY, LISTEN UP PEOPLE, IF YOU WANT TO STILL BE IN THIS KINGDOM'S TROOP, THEN YOU'VE GOTTA TOUGHEN UP. " The Delonian general exclaimed. Riley had almost jumped from the general's booming voice, and the general quickly became suspicious of her. He then went towards her, "WELL, WHO ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO BE YOUNG MAN?" Riley couldn't say anything from all her shaking. The general took off her helmet, "WELL, I DIDN'T EXPECT A LADY LIKE YOU WOULD JOIN THIS ARMY." He then winked at Riley, which caused her to almost throw up; did the general even like her? He then gave her a note, and he returned back in front, and continued talking. Riley was busy reading the note. It said,

'Dearest stranger,

You don't know me but I know you. I've longed for you since the day that I have met you, back in the woods. How I've longed for your love each night as the calm northern wind blows by enchanted forest. I wish to invite you at the royal banquet tonight, at the king's castle. I await your arrival.

"I don't remember any Edward being my childhood friend." she mumbled. Then, she remembered her childhood times, recalling all the times she saw him sneak, stalk her whenever she observes and looks at the flowers. When they were both 13 years old, he had tried to kiss her; but he had not succeeded in his plan; even Marcus despises of him, he doesn't trust him at all, as much as he also doesn't trust Zhion. Marcus went near Riley, "Can I see it?" She nodded and handed him the note that Edward had sent her. As Marcus slowly read it, his expression had turned from serious into anger. "That guy is dead to me." He said. Riley replied, "YEAH, I DON'T WANT TO SEE HIM BECAUSE HE IS REALLY A PERVERT! HE IS... well I will admit he IS kinda handsome but still! NO WAY AM I EVEN GOING TO THAT BANQUET!" Lyra exclaimed, "Whoa whoa calm down, you won't go into that banquet." "Phew.." She sighed. "But, whether you like it or not, you're really going there." Lyca said. Just then, Edward had shouted, "NOW, GO TO YOUR TRAINING GROUPS." and they saw each group had two members. He had approached her and tried to impress her, "Riley, wanna train together?" She rolled her eyes at him and answered, "No." He looked like an idiot in front of her, and Lyca wanted to hold her laughter because of what Riley did. They proceeded to their training area. Marcus was partnered with Lyca in battling, and Lyra was partnered in training with Zhion, and Riley trained alone. She went towards the target practiced and took out her light bow and charged her energy arrows. She placed her arrow within her bow's string, stretching out the string and readying to shoot towards the target. She released the string, and it immediately let go of the arrow. The energy arrow had landed on the middle of the target. She heard a slow clap behind her, "Very well done, Riley."Edward said. She rolled her eyes at him and tried to make him go away, "Edward can you leave me alone or something." He had pushed her against the wall and went closer and winked at her, "Why would I if the girl I love is already here?" She groaned, "UGH CAN'T YOU JUST STAY OUT OF MY WAY AND--" He had suddenly kissed her. She tried to struggle, but he had more advantage than her. After Zhion had trained with Lyra, Lyra complemented him, "Good job, dude." He nodded, "Thanks." Just as he was turning to check on Riley, he saw what happened; he had really been hurt and kept his feeling to himself. He headed towards the fountain garden, while holding back his tears. Lyra got curious and asked, "Uh Zhion, are you alright?" He nodded quickly, "Yeah I just wanna be alone." But Lyra had sensed that he was really hurt; she went towards him and asked, "You know I can read your feelings and expressions right? Why?" He got frustrated and shouted, "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" He walked out and went towards the garden. Riley then suddenly kicked Edward's stomach; he yelped from the pain and eventually let go of her. She ran away from her towards his friends while shouting, "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET YOU MANIAC!" When she turned back to Lyra, she gave Riley an icy stare. She raised her eyebrow at her, "Uh, is everything alright?" Lyra replied, "ALRIGHT?! ZHION IS AT THE GARDEN HEARTBROKEN BECAUSE OF YOU!" She raised her eyebrow again, "Uh what do I have to do with this?" Lyra sighed, "If you want to know what you did, go to the fountain garden and talk to him. Then you'd know what you did." She looked even more confused as she headed towards the fountain garden. There she saw Zhion, picking up flowers from a wilted bush and using his sword to cut each of the flowers' petals. She went towards him and asked, "Uh is everything fine? Lyra was losing her head, she told me you were brokenhearted because of me? What did I do?" He stayed silent. "HEY, WHAT DID I DO?" Still no response. She then got impatient and shouted, "ANSWER ME!" Hethen shouted back, "I WAS JEALOUS! THERE, DONE, I SAID IT! YOU HEARD ME, I LIKE YOU!" They both remained silent. And before she left him again all alone in the garden, she said, "You should've told me earlier."
