I wake up the next morning, and walk downstairs. Moriah and Joel are in the kitchen, drinking from mugs and talking. "Good morning," I smile. "Buenos Dias, Andria," Moriah replies. "How was your first night, darling?" Joel asks.
"It was fine," I answer. He raises an eyebrow at me, "Everything okay?" I nod, "Yeah, just lost in thought. What's for breakfast?" Moriah smiles at me, "We thought since it's your first morning, we'd go out."
"Yay! Lemme go change," I exclaim, running back up to my bedroom. I find some comfy sweats, and a hoodie, grab my Converse and run back downstairs. "Okay I'm ready!" I announce.
"Alright then. Lets head out, ladies," Joel says. We go down the street to a local diner. "Order anything you want, it's a celebration!" Joel declares. We walk inside, and I spot Luke, Courtney, and the kids.
I run up to them, "Hey guys! I didn't know you were gonna be here." Courtney smiles, "Like Joel said, it's a celebration." I take the seat next to Luke. Joel sits on my other side.
"Daddy, can I sit next to Andria?" Jude asks. Luke pulls him into his lap. Jude taps my shoulder. I turn to him, "Yes?" He leans over and places a small kiss on my nose, "We're like cousins now, right?" I smile, "Yes Jude, just like cousins."
He nods, "Okay good, cause I like you." I can't help but smile again, "I like you too, you know that buddy?" He grins, "Of course I did, silly. We're cousins."
The waitress comes to take our order. We all order, and then she leaves, soon to return with our food.
"You getting settled in at Joel and Moriah's?" Courtney asks. "Yeah. I like my room," I reply. I think about the conversation I had with Joel last night.
"Luke, when are you guys going to tour again?" I ask. "I'm not quite sure my dear, why?" He replies. "Uh no reason," I quickly tell him.
"She doesn't want us to leave, Luke, Joel tells him. Luke places his hands on top of mine, "Andi, darling, don't you worry. You're not going to lose us, I promise." I look up at him, and he looks serious. I believe him.
I pull Joel over, and lean into Luke. "I just don't know what I would do without you guys," I tell them. Jude wraps him arms around my neck, "You won't lose me either, Andi." I smile at him, and boop his nose, "Jude, you're such a sweet boy!"
The waitress brings us our food, and we all thank her generously. "Wait! I'll bless the food!" Luke says. We all hold hands while Luke prays over the food. He says amen, and we all dig in.
We all chat, and eat our entire breakfast. "Ari, can you come play with me at my house?" Jude asks. I turn to Joel and raise an eyebrow at him, "As long as Luke and Courtney are okay with it."
Jude turns from his Uncle Joel, to his parents, "Can Ari come over?" He asks. Luke nods, "Of course she can, she's always welcome."
The seven of us walk outside. "Bye Joel! Bye Moriah! I'll see you later," I tell them, hugging them both goodbye. "Bye sweetheart," Moriah says. "Don't let Luke get you into any trouble, beautiful," Joel says. We part ways, and I follow Luke and Courtney to their car.
"You'll have to sit in between the two carseats, is that okay?" Courtney asks. I nod, "Of course it is." I take my seat, Jude to my left, and Phoenix to my right.
It's not a very long drive to Luke's house, but Jude babbles, telling me funny jokes and stories the entire time. Once we're at the house, I pull Phoenix out if his seat, and follow Luke inside.
"Ari, this way is my room!" Jude proudly announces. I smile, hand baby P to Luke, and head in the direction he went. "These are my toys, and these are my books, and this is my picture with mommy, daddy, and Phoenix. One day I'll put a picture of you, me, Auntie Moriah, and Uncle Joel in here, because you're a family now, right Andi?" He asks. I nod, "Yes, we are family now. And I would be honored to have my picture in your room."
