Chapter 4

The next morning I am shook awake. "Come on darling, we have to get ready to go," Joel says softly, gently rubbing my back. I roll over and look at him. He smiles at me, "How did you sleep?" I nod, "Pretty good." He replies,"I'm glad. Get up and get dressed. Moriah's making breakfast."

He leaves the room, and I reluctantly climb out of bed. After a few minutes of deciding, I pull on some jeans and one of my older t-shirts from the Family Christian store. I make up my bed, and run downstairs, where I can smell bacon.

"Good morning, mija," Moriah smiles. I help Joel by grabbing the silverware, "Good morning, Moriah!" Just as the table is set, Moriah finishes the food. She puts a generous amount on each plate, and the three of us sit down together.

We link hands, and Joel blesses the food, then we begin eating. "How did you sleep, honey?" Moriah asks me. "Pretty well," I answer honestly. She smiles, "That's good."

"So, today we're filling out some paperwork. Are you excited to start school?" Joel asks. I shrug, "I guess. More like nervous. I don't know anybody. What if they don't like me?"

"Just be yourself, and I promise you'll make friends. I mean, who wouldn't want to be friends with an insanely beautiful, talented, loving girl like yourself," He tells me. My confidence instantly feels boosted, "Thanks Joel."

We finish eating, I run back upstairs to brush my hair and teeth, and grab my phone and shoes. By the time I'm back downstairs, Moriah and Joel have gotten themselves ready, and cleaned up the kitchen.

"Ready to go?" Moriah asks. I nod, and the three of us walk outside. Joel opens Moriah's door, then mine, and then he climbs in himself. Turning up the Air1 radio, we start down the road.

The ride to the school is only about ten minutes. We get inside and we're introduced to the secretary, Mrs. Holt, and the principal, Mr. Cook. "It's very nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Smallbone," Mr. Cook assures them.

"Yes, it's nice to meet you to. We're currently Andria's legal guardians, and we know school has already started but she just moved in with us," Moriah explains. Mr. Cook nods, "You can still enroll her." Joel nods back, "That's good. We need her to have a flexible schedule though. We're both musicians and travel a lot. She will have to come with us when we do, of course she can do her work while on the road."

"I think something can be arranged," Mr. Cook says, "Mrs. Holt will give the paperwork." She hands the paperwork to Moriah, and we're led to a room so she can fill it out.

Joel sits next to me, "So?" I smile at him, "I get to go with you on tour?!" He nods, "Yes! You didn't think I was just going to leave you, did you?" I lean over and give him a hug, "Thank you so much Joel, you're the best!"

I pull out my phone and send Luke a text, "You knew what he was planning, didn't you?"

I get one back, "What?"

Okay so maybe he didn't know. "That Joel was planning on bringing me on tour."

"Oh yeah. I knew that. Give me a break, it's early." He replies.

"I can't wait to tour with you guys, it's gonna be so much fun!" I exclaim through my text.

He texts back. "I can't wait either. I'll see you tonight, okay love?"

"Yeah see ya then xx." I put my phone back in my pocket. Moriah is almost done with the paperwork. "Okay, let's turn this in and head to the mall!" Moriah exclaims.

"You have to drop me off at Luke's house first, remember?" Joel asks. "Nah, just come with us. It'll be fun!" I tell him. He rolls his eyes, "I'm sure it will be a blast."

Moriah turns in the papers, and we get back into the car. "So Joel, you going to Luke's house or not?" I ask him. "Luke's house. You guys can pick me up when you're done," he says quickly. I smile at him, "Whatever you say."

We get to Luke's house and he's outside with Jude. He sees the car pull up, and runs to greet us. "Hey, Andi," he says. I smile, and open my car door to hug him, "Hey Luke."

Jude comes running, and jumps into my arms, "Ari, I missed you so much!" I smile at him, "I missed you too, buddy." Luke taps Jude's shoulder, "You have to let Andi go, bud. But you'll see her tonight at grandpa's, okay?" Jude frowns, but nods, "Okay. Bye Ari. I love you and I'll see you at grandpa's house later." I hug him, and Luke quickly, and turn to go back to the car.

"Hey, where's my hug?" Joel asks, opening his arms. I turn back around and hug him, "Bye Joel." He kisses my head, "Have fun lovely." I point at him and Luke, "You two, don't get into trouble!" I blow them both a kiss, and get into the car next to Moriah.

"You ready for this girlie?" She asks. I nod, "Oh yeah, let's do this!"
