"When a girl gives up, it's not because she doesn't love you, but because she's tired of getting hurt & feels like you'll never care."
"Mommy! Wook at us!!" Jennifer heard her son exclaim. She turned towards Garrett, seeing him and Jase play fighting while making faces at her. She laughed lightly, crossing her arms over her chest. "My little boy playing with his daddy. Cutest thing in the world."
"You know, I could I be your other boy too," Jase smirked, wriggling his eyebrows up and down. "All you have to do is-"
"Jase! No!" Jennifer cut him off, giving him a disgusted look. "You freaking annoying pervert!"
"Only for you, babe!"
"Don't call me 'babe'!" She warned, grabbing one of Garrett's stuffed animals -a stuffed monkey to be more specific- and threw it at him. Jase, of course, didn't see it coming, and it managed to hit him right on his temple.
He rubbed where the stuffed weapon hit him, and growled lowly. "Ow! That hurt, Jenny!"
"Oh shut up you little whiney baby!" Jennifer retorted, looking for something else to throw at him. After two years, she forgot how annoying Jase really was. "Even Garrett doesn't whine that much, and he's an actual baby!"
"You're mean you know that?" Jase snapped, sitting up with Garrett in his lap. "It's like every time I try to be nice to you, you get all bitchy. No wonder you don't have a boyfriend."
Jennifer strided her way over to Jase with her fists clenched. She picked Garrett up from Jase's lap, and started walking around the warehouse. Typical argument between Jennifer Vice and Jase Banner, everybody.
"Jennifer!" Jase called, trailing behind her. "Come on princess! I'm sorry, okay?"
Suddenly, he grabbed her wrist tightly and spun her around to face him. Jennifer glared venomously at him, a scowl plastered on her angered face. "Don't. Call. Me. Princess."
Jase ran a hand through his thick brown hair, frowning. "Jen, come on. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you like that. You know how I am! I'm also sorry that I cussed in front of Garrett. I should have known that you wouldn't approve of that."
Jennifer stared at him for a second, debating on whether to accept his apology or not. It was Jase Banner after all. He would do it again in no time. "Yeah. I don't want him to repeat any of your foul language. Just try not to do it again."
He gave her a small smile, trying to make her smile her beautiful smile again. To no avail, it didn't work. "What about the other apology?"
"Jase, don't you get it?" She sneered, yanking her wrist out of his rough grip. "You and I dated for two years, then you broke up with me when I told you I was pregnant. I loved you so much, but I guess you didn't return the feelings. Cause during the next two years, we didn't see each other at all. The only light I had in my life was Garrett."
Jase looked away to avoid her glassy eyes, nodding slowly. He didn't know that Jennifer actually loved him that much. He was Jase Banner. No one loved him because of his behavior. "Yeah, well, I guess I'm sorry about that too."
Jennifer chuckled with no humor, then turned around to walk out with Garrett staring at her with his big blue eyes. He was oblivious to what was going on around him. "Mommy, why are we weaving?"
"Because, sweetie," She fake smiled, buckling him in his carseat. "It's time for us to go home."
"Oh.." He muttered. "I thought home was with Daddy."
Jennifer stopped dead in her actions. "Who told you that, sweetie?"
"Daddy did. He said that home was when you are with your mommy and daddy together as a family."
