The Bad Boy and His Baby

Chapter One.

"Only miss the sun when it starts to snow. Only know you've been high when you're feeling low. Only know you love her when you let her go. And you let her go."

Jennifer looked down at her fully-round belly, smiling at the thought of an actual living thing growing inside her. She pulled up her maternity shirt and planted a gentle kiss on her belly. "Don't worry, baby. Even if Daddy isn't going to be around to see you, I'll make sure that nothing bad ever tries to come near you. Mommy will always be here to protect you. I love you, baby."

"What are you going to name your baby?" Jennifer's best friend, Carliee, asked. "Have you picked out any names yet?"

Jennifer shook her head, placing both of her hands on her stomach where she felt her baby kick. "Well, I don't know its gender. I wanted it to be a surprise, so when I see its face, I'll know what to name it. But I want some help with names."

Carliee smiled, placing her hands on Jennifer's stomach to feel the baby kick again. "How about we both get on our phones and search for baby names. We both get 30 minutes to find a first name and middle name to go with it. We each have to have 5 boy names and 5 girl names."

Jennifer nodded getting her phone and pencil ready. The 30 minutes started, making Jennifer rush to find names for babies.

"Okay! 30 minutes are up!" Carliee exclaimed, a huge grin on her face. "Let's show the names."

Jennifer nodded, showing her writing pad that was scribbled with 10 different names.

GIRLS - 1.) Ashlyn Clair 2.) Jocelyn Emelyne 3.) Naomi Bailey 4.) Autumn Raelynn 5.) Kacey Addeline

BOYS - 1.) Jaxon Carter 2.) Daniel Aiden 3.) Cameron Skott 4.) Braxton Connor 5.) Garrett Michael

Carliee showed hers at the same time, her notepad with a little bit neater handwriting.

Girls - 1.) Rayley Kate 2.) Carliee Alyson 3.) Christina Amberlynn 4.) Amberlee Courtlyn 5.) Serenity Jade

Boys - 1.) Garrett Austin 2.) Jarrett Brody 3.) Jonathon Elijah 4.) Ryder Gavin 5.) Dustin Charles

The two friends scanned each others writing pads, smiling at all the names. Honestly, they liked them all and couldn't choose favorites that easily.

"Okay, not let's pick our favorites!" Carliee clapped her hands together, continuing to smile big. "Out of the ones that you picked, I like Jocelyn Emelyne, Autumn Raelynn, Kacey Addeline, Jaxon Carter, Braxton Connor, and Garrett Michael."

"Those were my favorites, too. Out of yours, I like Christina Amberlynn, Amberlee Courtlyn, Serenity Jade, Garrett Austin, Ryder Gavin, and Dustin Charles."

"Why did you have to take out Carliee Alyson?! I love that name!" Her best friend cried in a joking manner.

Jennifer laughed. "I'm making you the godmother of the child, I think that's enough."

"Fine, but when your child asks you where they got their name from, don't come crawling to me."

They both gave another laugh before they continued to cross out the names. After about a few minutes of playful arguing, it got down to Kacey Addeline and Serenity Jade for the girls and Jaxon Carter and both Garretts for the boys. Jennifer adored the name Garrett, and always wanted to name her son Garrett. "I want the name Garrett, but I don't know what to use as his middle name."
