I thought to myself as a huge bat-looking creature swooped down right past me from out of nowhere.
I crouched down low and hid behind a van parked at the side of the poorly-lighted street.
I knew I should've just stayed inside instead of following Max. The next thing I know is I was far away from home, barefoot, in my long white night gown and a strange guy was following me.
If I make it home tonight I promise not to go out at night to follow a dog again!

I prayed.
Still crouching, I peeked at the open sidewalk, then started going that direction as quietly as I could.
I kept walking that way, while looking around.

All was going well until I heard loud thumps on top of the cars parked by the sidewalk as if something fell on them.
With a surprised gasp, I quickly stopped walking to hide under the cars.
There were loud thumps on top of the cars and.... Growls and roars....?

I stayed there and waited for the noises to stop.
I attempted to peek as the sounds faded away.
But when it did..
"Gotcha!"
I screamed as the man grabbed my foot from under the car.
I held on what seemed like a metal tube from under the car and started crying and kicking hysterically.
"No! No please!"
I kept crying and struggling.
"Come to papaaa...."
He maniacally sang.
I kept kicking as he pulled on my foot.
"No!"
He pulled.. And pulled.. And pulled..
"Come on!"
"Ahhhh!" I shrieked.
With one powerful pull, I lost my grip on the tube and painfully slid across the concrete floor.
He was now on top of me!
"Ahhhh!" I shrieked again as I struggled.
He pinned me down by my wrists and started pinning down my struggling legs.
