Dave's POV-

After that albino kid ran away after the bell I was contemplating whether to follow him or not. I finally decided to not follow him and get a move on to my class. Once I was in class I let my thoughts run wild. 'He was so mysterious but also so adorable.' I thought to myself. Suddenly a loud ringing noise snapped me out of my daydreams and into reality. 'Last period already? I'm gonna skip. I can't deal with this bullshit.' I started daydreaming about karkat again. 
"I'll find him later."
"Woah man, way to be creepy." I heat from beside me. I turned my head to find my best friend (also ex-boyfriend) beside me. Me and John dated for a few months before we decided to just go back to being best friends. Us dating never really impacted our friendship and we're still best Bros.
"Hey Egdork, how's your mornin' treating ya?" I ask with a southern drawl.
"Pretty good Mr. Texas, how's yours?" He asked with the ridiculous nickname he gave me.
"I found a new cutie in school. I don't fucking know how I missed him but, damn, he's adorable." I ephesize damn. John nodded. "What's he look like?"
"Really short, even shorter than you, white hair, red eyes. Albino kid." I say like it's no big deal. It actually is a big deal. When I saw his eyes I knew he was gonna be mine.
I snapped out of it when a hand waved over my face.
"Hey dave, aren't you supposed to be in class?" John asked after regaining my attention.
"I'm skipping," I said with a shrug, "Why are you out of class Egdork?"
"I have a free period, your not going to get into a good college if you skip all the time Dave." John said with a matter-of-fact tone lacing his voice.
"Eh I have a B average, I think I'm fine. And it's my last period, will anyone really miss me?" I stated in the same tone. I saw someone running past in the corner of my eye. I turned my head to see karkat running past.
"Hey Kitkat!" I yelled trying to get his attention. He froze in place and turned around. "Hiya Dave..." He said. When he turned around he looked like had been crying. "Woah man are you ok?" I ask. He looked down and nodded. I grabbed his chin and raised his face to mine, seeing the red rush into his cheeks. "No, you're not." I say answering my own question. "I'll talk to you later John." I say as I grab karkats arm and pull him away with me.

Once me and karkat are in an abandoned classroom I start questioning him. "Kitkat, what happened?" I say sympathetically. 
"I'm fine you ignorant snickerdoodle." I chuckle lowly. "I appreciate your tough guy facade, but you need to be honest."
"Well..."
