The last bell rang for today. I gather up all my belongings slowly, waiting until the last person was out the door before I decided to even leave.

The hallway was slowly emptying as students made their way to either the bus or car areas. I rode neither. I walked home.

"Hey bro!" Felix calls. I turn around to see him scurrying down the hall. "Wait up!"

By the time he reaches me, he was panting a little bit. I scratch the back of my head. "What's up?"

"Did you hear about the new kid?" He asks. I sigh and roll my eyes.

"Not only did I hear about him, but I also have class with him!"

"Whoa, cool!" Felix exclaims as we walk down the end of the hall. "He seems like a nice dude."

"Yeah... but," I trail off as I open the door, leading to the bus area.

"But?" Felix asks, steeping through the door. It was dark out due to the heavy rain clouds lingering in the sky, threatening to spill their tears on everyone. I sigh again, glancing over the swarm of kids huddled in their little groups, gossiping.

"I don't know, Felix. Something just seems strange about...Mark." I say quietly, remembering his name. Remembering how his dull brown eyes stared at everyone with no expression in them whatsoever. I shiver slightly, mostly in disgust. The way he looked at us made it seem like he had no emotions at all. Like he doesn't care.

"Well," Felix says after a minute. "You know what they say, rather be weird than normal. Unless you're the dark and dirty kind of weird then never mind." And that made me laugh.

"This is why we are friends," I laugh. He smiles in return, patting my shoulder.

"Do you think I could come over tonight Jack?" I shake my head.

"Sorry, Felix. Not tonight. Ma has plans for us to go to out for dinner since it's Dad's birthday after all."

"Damn, alright then bro. I'll just go hangout with Cry and Ken tonight then." He glances over at the buses, spotting his bus. "I gotta go, see ya tomorrow!"

I waved farewell, and continued walking down the sidewalk, listening with each step as the chatty and cheerful noise of the kids slowly fade away.

I was halfway to my house when the storm decides to start. A lightening bolt flashes overhead, causing me to flinch a little, picking up my pace.

Please don't rain on me. Please don't rain on me. I pleaded silently in my mind as thunder grumbles in the sky, declaring its warning. No matter how many times I pleaded, the sky still decided that it wanted to cry, drenching me with its raindrop tears.

I sigh, speeding up even faster. The rain was pouring down, making it very difficult to see. Everything was shaded gray, due to the rain. Another lightening bolt dances across the sky, another crack of thunder and I started running. Something about this was terrifying me which was weird.

Usually when it storms like this, I wouldn't care. I love the rain, it makes everything pretty. But something was terribly wrong. Through the thunder, the rain, and the lightening, I only felt one thing. I felt like I was being watched.
