"Mark?" I nearly shout as he looks down at me in shock. "What're you.. How did you..?!"
"I heard commotion while I was walking pass this house," he tries to explain. "I-" he cuts off mid-sentence. A low growl emits from inside my house. Fear courses through me as Mark's back stiffens. "Jack.." He growls, glaring at the doorway.
Something metallic, almost as if gears were randomly placed in a sloppy way, appears in the doorway. The thing had a very creepy face that grinned when its yellow eyes landed on Mark and I. It must've been what I had stabbed earlier because the knife I had to defend myself with was stuck in its side, under what was suppose to be wires for ribs.
"Well, well, well," it says, voice like nails on a chalkboard. "I originally came for Subject 44532, but what a pleasant surprise to find you lurking amongst here, Project Bravo."
"W-what?!" I stammer out. "Subject whoever the f*ck you said, doesn't live here. Nor is Mark Project Br-"
"Jack!" Mark warns. I fall silent, watching in confusion. What was the person, machine rather, talking about? It laughs.
"You guys make my job so much easier," it says. Where one arm is suppose to be is a very sharp, dagger looking object. The other arm was a oddly shaped gun. "Master will be happy with me. Master will be pleased!"
"To hell with you!" Mark growls, grabbing my wrist, running fast away from it, dragging me along with him.
"Mark!" I screamed, trying my best to ignore the bullets flying passed my head.
"Damn it Jack! Just run!" He yells. Barking, snapping and snarling sounded behind us as we ran down the street.
"God damn it!" Mark growls, dragging me around a corner and into a house that was for sale. He glanced over his shoulder quickly, making sure I was inside before slamming the front door shut. There was a loud thud and a bunch of whining coming from outside.
"Mark-"
"We need to find a place to hide and fast!" He says, grabbing my wrist, yanking me on me feet and down the hall. There was a small closet in the hallway. Mark opens the closet door, shoving both of us inside and closes the door.
"What the hell is going on!" I hiss. Day one of this asshole being in this town and everything goes to shit.
"You don't have any memories of it?" He hisses back.
"Memories of what!" I shout. A loud bang echoes across the house followed by barking and the voices.
"Listen," he whispers so quietly I was surprise I could still hear him. "If we survive this, I'll answer any questions you have. Promise."
Yeah, IF we survive. I roll my eyes, but accepted.
"I know you two are in this house!" The thing shouts. "Why don't you make this easier for yourselves and surrender."
It didn't take long for the annoying dog/cat animal to find where we were hiding. The thing stands in front of the door smirking to the best of its ability.
"Found you!" It says, while the animal scratches on the door. My heart pounds in my chest so loud I could barely hear anything else. We were going to die. I grip Mark's wrist tightly, closing my eyes. The animal lets out a howl and the thing opens the closet door.
