I slip out of the Inn early in the morning, avoiding everyone I'm travelling with. Alpine and I run through the empty streets, to the place I agreed to meet Erom.

Taking note of the daggers on his hip and a bow on his, I greet him.

Waving and smiling, I say, "Hey Erom!"

He smiles softly and says, "I hope you don't mind, I brought my daggers and bow."

I reply, "Why would I mind? I carry to giant swords on my back."

His smile flickers a different emotion, just for a second.

Ill intent?

No... no way.

We walk down a snow covered pathway, toward a river that runs near by. Alpine runs onto the ice, and seems to slip and slide.

She barks and wags her tail happily.

Snow falls in a steady stream from the sky as I pull Erom onto the Ice.

I hold his hands to keep from slipping and falling. We spin and twirl, happiness filling the air.

After hours of playing in the snow I finally decide to take a break. Getting of the ice, I stand near a tree.

I stare up into the branches and watch as snow falls. I feel wind blow past me, and seem to gather behind my back.

Turning around quickly, I see Erom holding a magic bow.

I mouth, "Why?"I feel myself fall against the tree, when I try to reach for my sword.  He lets the arrow slip from his fingers, and as I try to slide out of the way, it pierces my shoulder and lodges into the tree. It leaves me stuck to the tree, sitting on the cold ground.

I watch as Alpine tries to attack him, but he puts a sleep spell on her and looks at me. He says, "I was hired by Yennefer. Seeing as you being much to trusting, this was easy. Instead of dying immediately,  you'll bleed out. No one will find you out here in time."

He puts his hand on the shoulder with the arrow and squeeze, earning a cry of pain from me.

I listen to his steps fade out. Tears stream down my face and freeze as they fall.

Trying to reach to Alpines sleeping body, pain shoots through my shoulder. Another pained cry escapes my mouth.

No ones going to come for me.

I choke out, "A-Alpine. W-wake up." I try throwing snow at her with my good arm, the left arm.

Please... Wake up.

I feel my blood soaked coat and shirt start to freeze.

Reaching up to the tail of the arrow, I wrap my hand around the feathers.

Breathe.

Dont yank it.

Break it.

SNAP-!

I use fire magic to burn splinters off, so none would get stuck inside of the wound.

Now, just pull yourself from the tree.

Be strong.

Wait, I don't have any healing potions.

Three.

I force my body forward some, blood gushing, tears flowing, a pain staking scream seems to perk Alpines ears up.

Two.

Forcing myself forward one more time, my vision blurs, my scream seems muffled.

One.

I push one last time, falling forward into the snow, dying the whiteness red.

Zero.

Breathe.

I try to calm my ragged breathing. Slow your breathing, slow the blood flow.

Alpines awake, shes startled.

Howling fills the air.

I hold my hand out to the beast. A blood stained hand reaches for her soft hair.

Please don't leave me.

My hand is shaking, I'm trembling.

I can't breathe, my chest is tight.

Please...by the heavens...Don't go.

----

Well.

Damn.

Erom you butt.
