Knit And Stitched

These hearts as soft as wool
Were knitted to form one
I had needles for fingers
Hooks for thumbs
Carefully, I picked up our intertwined yarn
Only to get caught amongst the thread
My hooks and needles, who had wove this scarf to life
Was now the source of its destruction
Within the tangles, anxiety crept in cross stitches.
Taunting my fabric with its thin lines of colours
Feeling suddenly estranged, I cut the line between our once mingled hearts.
I always had trouble with distractions
Pricking myself won't do me any good
After all, I suffered the malfunctions.
That caused our unraveling.
