"Ugh so booorrrreeeedddd," I whined. Caitlyn hit me with a pillow.
"Thought anymore about my idea?" she asked.
"No not really," I said.
"I really think you should do it," she said.
"I don't know. I just see it ending badly. Like everybody will get mad at me," I explained.
"I have an idea. Let's call Maci. See her perspective," Caitlyn said. I picked up my phone and called her.
"Hey Mace."
"Hey!!"
"Is now a bad time?"
"Yea kinda. Everybody's freaking out because there's some kind of party tonight."
"Are you going?"
"No probably not."
"Ok well can you meet Caitlyn and I at the Starbucks near you in about 20 minutes?"
"Sure see you then."
She hung up. I turned to Caitlyn.
"Alright let's go," I said and got up.
*20 minutes later*
"Mace," I yelled as she ran up to us. I gave her a big hug. We walked into Starbucks and ordered our drinks. Once we got them we found some seats in the back.
"So what's up?" she asked.
"I believe Annie should apply to college with you," Caitlyn said. Maci's mouth dropped.
"Really? Why?" Maci asked.
"Because she's always bored and I think she needs something to do," Caitlyn said.
"How do you feel about this?" Maci asked me.
"I don't really know. I mean I've always wanted to but I just I don't know how Matt would feel," I said.
"Well call him and ask," she said. I sighed and grabbed my phone.
"Hey Matt?"
"Hey Anns. I have to call you back. My dad needs me," he said and hung up before I could speak. That happened a lot lately. We didn't really see each other. I don't know what his dad was having him doing. Preparing to become king? Be in meetings? I don't know but he just didn't really see me anymore.
"He had to go," I sighed.
"Well my family is leaving tomorrow so let's try and figure this out by tomorrow," Caitlyn said. I frowned and nodded. We got up to leave.
"Coming back with us?" I asked Maci and she nodded.
"I want to see everybody," she said. We got into my car and drove back home. We entered the house to see Lorie and Steve packing their suitcases.
"Caitlyn is your stuff ready for tomorrow?" Lorie asked.
"Yea mom," Caitlyn replied. Mum came out of the kitchen.
"Maci!" she exclaimed.
"Hi Mrs. Preston," Maci said.
"Mum is dad upstairs?" I asked. I already knew the answer but mum nodded yes, I walked up to their room.
"Hey dad," I said as I knocked on the door and walked in.
"Hey pal," he said.
"How you feeling?" I asked.
"Great," he said. That's a lie I thought. He was getting a lot weaker. Considering it's almost Thanksgiving break and they...nope I'm not even gonna think that way. I sat on the edge of his bed.
"Do you think I should apply for college," I said.
"What?" he asked.
"Do you..think I...should apply for college?" I asked slowly.
"I can't make that decision. You have to yourself. What do you want?" he asked. I thought about it and nodded.
"Thanks dad," I said. I got up and walked downstairs. Maci and Caitlyn looked up at me.
"How do I apply?" I asked. They smiled.
