A/N: before i start, i just want to say THANK YOU (again) SO MUCH FOR 20K! All of the Ladyblog appreciates it so much, especially me, Gela! I can't believe this actually happened omg someone pinch me 😭

anyways, in celebration for 20k, how about a less emotional chapter? well, i won't say it's purely not emotional, there would still be some feels because that's like, the main purpose of this story. im so evil, i know.

Plus, I want the story to go as planned, and at first I didn't plan any funny scenes at all so I'll just try to put funny scenes in anyway I can.

anyways, thank you so much! ✨

Chapter Four

It was a beautiful Saturday morning. The smell of freshly baked croissants and cupcakes filled Marinette's room once her mother, Sabine, opened the trapdoor to her room.

"Marinette, it's time for breakfast," her mother's soothing voice said, "Wakey wakey."

Marinette groaned, feeling exhausted and lazy. Waking up early has never been her thing, especially with what happened recently. The guilt and regret never left her heart, and somehow it just gets worse every time she thinks about it.

"Okay, mama," Marinette replied, "I'll be downstairs soon."

At the sound of her trapdoor closing, she rolled out of her bed and walked to the balcony to get some fresh air and relax for a little bit. And just as when she thought that she can finally go downstairs with her usual, bubbly self, a certain cat arrived, clumsily landing beside her.

"Good morning, Princess," Chat Noir greeted, his voice unusually husky and tired. Marinette blushed at the sound but shook it off immediately.

"Just woke up?" she asked, trying to cover the worry and the guilt in her voice.

The black cat stood up and studied his princess for a moment. Her hair wasn't in their usual pigtails; they fell softly on her shoulders and is messy. She looked tired, but her blue eyes say otherwise. They were as striking as ever. Her lips were pale and her cheeks weren't in their usual rosy color. There was a small drool stain at the right side of her lip. For Marinette, she probably looked awful at the moment.

Chat Noir thought she looked beautiful.

"Yes," he breathed, fascinated by the girl infront of him. He almost forgot about the stunning Ladybug who broke his heart.

Marinette gave him a smile, making the cat's heart flutter.

"I heard you went to school yesterday. Are you okay? Is your cold gone?" Chat asked, concern written all over his face. Marinette felt like she wanted to dig a hole and die in there. Just how selfless is this cat, to ask if she is okay, even though when he, himself, has a heart shattered to pieces?

A tear escaped the ravenette's eye and she quickly wiped it away before Chat could see it, "Yes. I'm okay. You don't have to worry about me."

Chat looked unconvinced, but nodded his head and turned to look at the city.

She bit her lip, nervous.

"Chat," she called, "How about you? Are . . . are you okay?"

His ears drooped down the moment Marinette asked the question. He wasn't okay. He never was.

"She hates me," He mumbled loud enough for Marinette to hear, "Ladybug hates me. She called me useless. Unlucky. Those things she called me, they're true, aren't they?"

His eyes immediately turned to her blue ones. Chat's eyes looked so intimidating, yet so soft and vulnerable. Marinette took the pain in his eyes as a thousand slap to her face.
