Chapter Seventeen
Jamison's Point of View
"So this is it? We can fuck, but we can't open up and talk?"
The words rattle my bones. I jump up from a deep and comforting sleep. I look on my right to see that Lorelei is sound asleep. Thank goodness I didn't wake her. Her words have been running through my mind since she said them. Well, she yelled them, but it's all the same. They're out in the open.
And I can't see to shut my mind off.
I force my eyes closed. I told Lorelei my biggest secret. Although most of the initial fear has disappeared, part of me is terrified that she's going to think I'm a mentally ill freak. That is how some people look at it. That reason alone is why I keep it locked away in a place where it won't come out.
I look over at Lorelei sleeping peacefully. Her eyelids flutter. Her blonde and pink hair is fanned out on her pillow. She's so beautiful. I kiss the top of her head and pull her as close as I can without startling her. Stop being so insecure, Jamison. It isn't very attractive.
I close my eyes again, hoping to finally get these negative thoughts to go away. And before I know it I'm opening my eyes again. This time Lorelei isn't next to me. I sit up in bed and look over at the clock on Lorelei's bedside table.
10:23 A.M.
When I look back up Lorelei is standing in the doorway. She's only wearing my blue button-up shirt and she's holding two cups of coffee. She walks over to me, handing me my morning beverage.
"Good morning, Lorelei," I tell her before taking a long pull of the hot, black coffee. Just the way I like it.
She puts her cup down on the nightstand and plops down in front of me. She sits on her knees, while her blonde and pink hair bounces, then finds it's home back against her shoulders. She looks up at me with her clear blue eyes. I lean in and kiss the smile right off her lips. She tastes sweet. She wraps her arms around my neck and kisses me right back.
Waking up to Lorelei every morning would be nice. It would be a hell of a lot more than nice, Jamison. Just admit it. I ignore the little voice in my head. I pull back, regretting it instantly. My lips miss hers already.
"I know you're not going to be very happy, but I have to get going. Brian is going to kill me if I'm late to another meeting."
Lorelei gives me a quick peck. "I don't want you to go just yet," her hands travel to my naked chest. She kisses my neck and up my chin to my lips. I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her as close to me as possible. As she stradles my waist, I kiss down her neck, making her moan. Every time she moans I get harder and harder. Oh Lorelei and your power over me.
"You're going to be the death of me, beautiful girl," I admit a little breathy. Being with Lorelei is a rush. And most of the time I need to catch my breath. Everything about her is wonderful.
"I still don't want you to go, Jamison."
I kiss her neck again, finding her sweet spot. "I'll make it up to you. I promise."
