                                               Chapter Nineteen

Time decided to speed up out of nowhere. Before I knew it the wedding was only seven short days away. Getting everything all ready was stressful, but keeping Meredith from having an emotional breakdown was another thing altogether.

I knew that Meredith was going to want perfection--she deserves the best. I just wasn't expecting her to be this cranky and upset over the smallest mistakes. Yesterday we got a call from the caterer. They called to double check the order; to make sure everything was up to her standards. They messed up one small appetizer. And it was just one plate of hors d'oeuvres. Meredith had a hissy fit. In all of my years of knowing Meredith, I have never seen her act this way.

Even though I'm not married, I can only imagine the stress. Especially after everything that has happened in the last few weeks. I want this wedding to be perfect for Meredith and Hudson. After all of the shit they have gone through these last few days, they deserve happiness for years and years to come.

"Can you please make sure the guest bedroom's look 'hotel room chique' ?" Meredith asks while I finish boxing up all of the stupid fru-fru decorations. All of which are pink, pink, and more pink!

"What the hell does 'hotel room chique' mean, Meredith?" I'll admit I'm a little irascible. I'm exhausted and over-worked. I haven't seen Jamison since we made up almost two weeks ago. He went back to California for an emergency. It looks like Brian fucked up big time. Jamison sounded really upset the last time I talked to him on the phone.

I miss him. So much. I'm trying to ignore the bad thoughts of him not missing me too. But there isn't anything I can do. And I have Meredith's wedding to worry about. Oh, and Meredith herself. But Hudson has been a lot of help with her. I can tell he's still in pain, but the love he feels for her is easy to see. You don't have to look very hard to notice it.

Thankfully one of Meredith's bridesmaids, Charlotte, has been a lot of help. She's a beautiful girl with hazelnut brown hair that flows down below her shoulders in soft curls and these dark chocolate brown eyes that are almost hypnotising. She's the sweetest girl I've ever met--besides Brooke. She's staying at the house until the wedding. She says it makes it a lot easier since she doesn't live in town. And it's also easier for her because she's going through a divorce.

Meredith and Charlotte met in college. They were roommates all four years. I remember when Meredith would call me up at least once a week and tell me about the adventures she was having with Charlotte. Meredith had other friend's too, of course, but Charlotte was her college best friend. I've spent time with her before, just never like this. It's nice to finally get the time to get to truly get to know her finally.

"Can you just make sure the rooms look nice? My parents should be here tonight and they're staying here up until the wedding. I want everything to be perfect, Lorelei."
