A brilliant white light tore through the green curse. A shield erupted in front of both twins, sending the spell back toward the one whom had cast it.

"Ahhhhhhh!!!" Voldemort cried out in pure agony. All he could feel was pain. He seemed to be leaving his body, and the home of the Potter's was slipping away....

He had failed.

.....................................

Young Harry Potter was still in his crib, but he was glowing with a bright, white light. The shield that had protected him and his brother from the Killing Curse was now protecting them from the falling pieces of the ceiling, which had become very unstable.

Pieces of rubble bounced off the shield, causing a light show that would have been enjoyable in any other circumstance. Harry was fine, but that had nothing to do with Marcus Hayden Potter, who was crying his little heart out. Of course, how many babies wouldn't cry in this situation?

Harry, also being a baby, couldn't break the laws of magic forever. The shield started to flicker. Pieces of rubble started to fall through. One such piece fell and tore through Marcus' forearm, all the way from the bottom tip of his elbow to the lowest part of his palm. This only caused him to scream louder.

Harry saw this, and as a result, the shield became as strong as ever. He kept it that way until the ceiling was on the ground and all you could see above them were the brilliant stars and bare support beams.

The bright shield faded away, and Marcus kept on crying. Harry, however, collapsed from the exhausting job of keeping him and his twin safe from harm.
