It was the night of the halloween dance at my high school and I actually decided to go this year. I decided to wear my actual costume instead of the sluts who find the dance an excuse to wear revealing clothes or boring assholes who just wear clothes. I grabbed my cookie monster onesie and slipped it on.
"Nice and warm." I thought and pulled my hair down from it's bun, making it fall in neat waves. I grabbed my makeup bag and put on a quick face, and for a little touch, I put a little blue eyeshadow on my eyelids. I smiled and got up, slipped on my blue sneakers, grabbed the keys to my Jeep, and ran out the door, slamming it behind me so my mom knows I left. I drove over to Athena's house and found her waiting for me on her front step. She had her Elmo onesie on, with red eyeshadow and sneakers. She looked adorable and super comfy!
"Hey, Theners! You look cute!" I said and punched her playfully in the arm. She laughed and shut the cars black door.
"You look adorable, too! Maybe tonights the night we get some foxy men!" I laugh and pull out of the drive way, heading towards the school. When we get to the school parking lot, its full of cars already, so finding a spot takes a good 10 minutes. We walk to the door, showing the principal the tiket we got hours before in school and walk down the hall towards the blasting music. We grab hands and swing then high as we search for our friends in the crowded room. I spot Emily and make a run for her, pulling Athena behind me. I tackle Emily and she yells, pushing me off. She has a T-Rex onesie on, with a little tea cup in hand.
"A tea rex... clever bitch" I thought and chuckled low. I saw Connor and Sienna together talking in the corner. They have been dating for a while, almost 8 months. I wave them over and they see me, smile, and head over towards us, hands intertwined. I smile. Their love is cute. They both just wore something nice, no costume. My friends are the only people who I find to be exceptional boring without them being assholes. I kept searching for more of our friends, once Connor and Sienna hugged us and said hello.
My eyes found Sal and Annabel, chatting with people I dont know, bug have seen around. I smiled and texted Sal.
   "hey asshole, turn around"
   "why?"
I look up and see Sal looking around for me. I stick my tongue out out him and wave him over. Sal sees me, smiles, and taps Annabel's shoulder and pointing to wear we are. Annabel runs towards us, dressed as Cher from Clueless, with Sal trailing close behind her. Sal dressed in his regular clothes. Annabel tackle hugged me and Athena, since our hands are still intertwined. I compliment her costume and look at Sal.
"Hey, jackass... where's your costume?" I yelled at him when he got close enough for him to hear me. I smacked him in the arm and he smacked me back.
"Well, I was gonna, but I was to lazy." I smiled and laughed. Sal is just like that, I can't believe I asked that question. I tugged Athena towards the dance floor, where "Too Good" by Drake is playing. I smile and grabbed Athena's hands, swaying with her and just having a great time. Emily, Sal, and Annabel join us in a circle. As we were dancing, I saw Steven with some guy in the corner. I grabbed Athena and ran over to them. Steven was dressed as a clown and the other guy hade a skeleton-like face painting on his face, wearing a tuxedo. He was quite attractive, but I ignored that so I wouldn't creep him out. Athena flicked Steven in the nose.
"Get your sorry butt over to our best friend dance circle. Oh, hey Mark! Long time, no see!" She had to yell just for us to hear her. But all I could think about was the fact was the Mark I knew from 6th grade. The Mark who used to be shorter than me with shaggy hair and a chubbier figure. The Mark that is now 5'8 with shorter hair and a slim figure, and very handsome. I smiled and kicked Steven. He looked at me and chased me over to our circle of friends. I looked back to see Mark talking in Athena's ear, looking right at me. I didn't know what to do, so I went back to dancing, grabbing Emily and jumping on her back, singing as loud as I could. Athena came over eventually, without Mark in sight. I got of Emily and went over to Athena.
"Mark Fishbach? Really? There's no way!" I said and smacked her.
"Yeah, and when you left, he said he wanted to talk to you." My mind turned in a million different directions. I knew tonight would be different then any other school dance I've ever been to.
