She was sitting in a heap of clothes, crying her eyes out, yet silent.

Don't wake the children.

Maine has never felt alone and broken in her entire life, after finding out that her husband has another woman.

She wants to leave but she couldn't, because what would she tell the children? Everyone else?

Richard will be home soon, so she sucked it up and tried to get herself together. Carefully folding and putting away all the clothes she had thrown in the floor.

This has been her routine for the past few weeks. Richard pretends that all is well, kisses her cheek and dotes on their children, yet he is seeing his ex-girlfriend, Ines, on the side.

Maine had her suspicions. The late meetings, last minute out of town trips , his hush voice in the bathroom , his sudden awareness of her when he is on his phone. Maine had a feeling she couldn't shake, but she had no proof. Until that one day, Maine followed Richard and saw him getting into a condominium in BGC, kissing Ines that she has not felt from him in years. She thought it wouldn't last, as Ines wouldn't stay long in the country. Yet she is still here, and her husband is still away.

But what about the twins, Arabelle and Sean? They are only 2 years old. Should she go home to her family?  She furiously writes on her journal all her pain and aggression. She does not have any one else to tell. Not yet anyway.

Frustrated, Maine starts sobbing again, her body in a fetal position until her tears dried and she passed out from exhaustion; her journal hugging her chest.

Richard, however, has his head on his hands. He is beyond stressed out; his situation has not improved and so is his relationship with his wife. He rubs his face until he hears footsteps. He looks up.

"Richard..."

" Is she okay? How is she ? "

"It would be best if you followed me."

"She looks serene. But not quite.."

Richard touches the glass window. The one thing that separates him and Maine.

"Richard, your wife had another episode. She was uncontrollable and managed to exhaust herself from tears."

"Dr. Villar, what else can I do?"

"Nothing much for now. She just got here. She does not talk and all she does is write in her journal; seemingly convinced you were having an affair with a woman named Ines, and she was worried for your children."

"But Ines is just a friend. An ex-girlfriend and nothing else. And the children, you know what happened to them..."

"I am very sorry, Richard. Losing your children from that car accident that Maine was in is painful . It seems like seeing  Ines immediately after the accident had triggered something in Maine. We still need more time to assess her."

Richard stared thru the one way glass window at his sleeping wife. He slowly closed his eyes and shed tears. Not only he lost his twins , but also his beautiful , young wife.
