Iris and her 4 friends sat in a cozy booth in the corner of Iris's favorite restaurant, The Three Conniseurs' Divine Dining. The cool name and the good food wasn't the only reason she liked it. She had a crush on one of the co-owners, Cilan. A huge one.
"Hey, guys, it's feelings time!" Serena slammed her hands down onto the oddly shiny table, startling Iris out of her deep thoughts.
"Arceus, Serena, please warn me before you do that!" Iris grumbled.
"Well, if I did, then I wouldn't have to slam my hands down in the first place, thus creating an eternal vortex in time-"
"Nobody cares,"
"Okay, fine. So...what's the status?"
"Broccoli looked at me in the hallway today," Blue smiled and turned her chin up, obviously proud of her nickname and accomplishment.
"Alright then. Dawn, what about you?"
"'I Like A Shrub' and I are getting along swimmingly," Dawn said sarcastically and crossed her arms.
"That's okay, they won't last long," Shauna piped in.
"They've been going steady for 2 years now. I bet May has gone at it lots of times," Dawn huffed. "Her huge boobs win everyone over, excluding her brother,"
"C'mon, Dawn, won't you be nice again?" Shauna pouted.
"Stop it, guys. Okay...Iris! You haven't told us who you like yet!" Serena asked, a little too cheery.
Cilan instantly popped into Iris's mind. That green hair, those gorgeous eyes...
"Uhh...ahh...um..."
All of a sudden, a beautiful waitress approached the booth. Iris sighed in relief, dodging the question. She instantly recognized the waitress as May.
"Here's your guys's drinks." May carefully sat down the filled-to the-brim drinks, making sure not to spill them. In the process, she bent forward a little too far, exposing her cleavage. Iris glanced over at Dawn, and sure enough, her face was bright red.
As May handed out menus, Iris began to get a little confused. Her ex-best friend was never this nice to them.
"Uhh...Dawn?" May asked once she was done, her voice wavering a bit. "Can I talk to you for a sec?"
Dawn awkwardly stood up, squeezed her way past Serena and Blue, and followed May to the bathrooms.
"Well, that was unexpected," Shauna sweatdropped. "Anyway, Iris, let's get back to you. Who do you like?"
Iris froze, mortified. How was she going to tell them?
Just then, the guy she was obsessing over came up to our table.
"Hi girls! How's everything going?"
"Just fine, thanks," Blue said snottily, wanting him to leave to hear Iris's answer. Serena kicked her under the table, causing her to wince in pain and kick back. Shauna kicked both of them, trying to stop them.
"Uh...s-sorry for my, uh amigas-no, friends, uh r-right here, not there, but here," Iris stuttered. Spanish? Why Spanish? Her parents were Indian, for crying out loud!
"That's okay, sometimes I have to deal with customers way worse than this," Cilan smiled. Iris resisted the urge to swoon.
"I was just going to tell you guys that you would receive a new server. Everything fine with that?"
"That's totally fine!" Shauna said, pausing her kicking. "I don't mean to sound rude, but why exactly?"
"Unfortunately, your first server was fired from neglecting her customers." Cilan frowned. "Well, I hope you ladies enjoy your meal!"
