Chapter 50- Heartbeat

-IVYS POV-

~~ONE WEEK LATER~~

"Hey, my names Ivy- I should be coming in today for my first scan?" I said into my phone quietly.

"Ah yes dear, the big gender reveal! Are you excited?" I heard the nurse chuckle back

"Well, I've thought I might keep the gender a secret" I said, holding the phone closely to my ear.

Joker was out, but still- I wanted to be careful, so i kept my voice low.

"That's totally up to you miss, we will see you at two o-clock then?" The woman replied

"Two o-clock!" I laughed weakly, too busy feeling the excitement. Then I hung up the phone.

I thew the phone on the bed gently, and sat down.

"I'm gonna' see you today" I smiled down at my little bump. I ran my hand across it lightly.

The past week has been pretty normal, but I guess nothing is normal about this whole thing.
I took the bandage off my head yesterday, the cut seemed to scab over nicely.

Joker had been going out a lot more though, even in the day. I guessed it was about this 'bomb thing', but I didn't question it.

However, he had to "deal with something" today, so I let him do what he had to do. It gave me the time to go to the doctors.

I had ten minutes until the appointment.
I got back on my feet, then collected my things to leave. I didn't know how long Joker was going to be- but whatever the case, I needed to be quick.

I walked down the creaky stairs, then exited the mansion.

I unlocked the car, then sat inside.

Just before I started the engine, I let out a little chuckle- it was happiness mixed with disbelief.

"I'm so...I'm so happy" I smiled to myself

I brought myself back to reality, then started the car.

But before I could do anything else, Jokers Purple Lamborghini pulled into the drive. He had probably been somewhere secret with his henchmen or Frost, but not in the centre of Gotham- definitely not now.

"Shit" I hissed, slamming my hand on the steering wheel.

He got out of his flashy sports car, then approached me.

"Ivy?" He asked, standing in front of the car i was still in.

I rolled my window down awkwardly, then spoke.
"Um...hey"

"Where are you doing?"

"Nothing...just going out"

"Where?"

I paused for a second, then gulped.
"No where"

Joker looked at me stupidly, then let out a weak chuckle, bringing one hand up to his forehead.
"Princess, don't bullshit a bullshitter"

I sighed, then turned the car off. I guess I would either be really late or re schedule. Great.

"Look J, I'm going out" I said "that's all"
