Chapter 54- Don't Close Your Eyes

-JOKERS POV-

I lost her car. She must of made a sudden turn and I missed it.

I slammed my hands on the steering wheel In front of me as I drove. Anger took over my body for a second.

As I checked down random streets for her car, I couldn't shake the overwhelming thought in my mind.

She was pregnant....with my child.

I knew I didn't use a condom, I never did since..I fell in the chemicals.
I thought I couldn't have kids. I thought I was unable to since i came in contact with ACE.
I guess I was wrong.

But now I knew I had a child, it changed something in me slightly. I was...happy.

I was torn between my life of crime and this baby, but after I thought about it...I would choose Ivy and our child over anything.

I started to approach the old part of Gotham, and the part where some factories still stood. One of them being ACE Chemicals.

I inspected streets, but she wasn't there.
The only place left was ACE.

I hoped she wasn't there, but as I got closer to the building, I noticed her car parked outside it.

I quickly turned off my engine, then stepped out of my Lamborghini.

I immediately entered the building through the back door, and I could hear mumbling.

I climbed the stairs silently and slowly with caution.

"Why the fuck is she here?" I thought, causing me to unintentionally growl.

As I climbed higher, I could make out the mumbling.
I heard Ivys voice, and I felt a wave of relief...

But then, as I climbed higher...her voice wasn't calm...she sounded like she was begging for her life.

"IVY!!" I shouted as I began to run up to stairs frantically.

When I reached the ledge, my limbs froze in place.

I saw Harley...but she was holding a knife in Ivy's stomach.

"THATS MY BABY! MY BABY!" She shouted in Ivy's face, penetrating the knife again, but leaving it inside her.

Ivy fell to the ground, and a pool of blood surrounded her in a matter of seconds.

"PUDDIN!!" Harley screamed happily as she turned and saw me "PUDDIN YOU'RE HERE!!"

I felt tears brim my eyes, but anger was boiling up inside me. Usually I would of done something by now...but my whole body was frozen.
It was because of Harley's sudden appearance.

"I'm so happy!" She squealed "I've been hiding in this building for three days Puddin! Let's go home already!"

My eye twitched, my hands forming fists. The realisation had finally hit me.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!?" I bellowed, running over to Ivy.

She was face down on the floor, she seemed unconscious but she wasn't- she was nearly.

"YOU ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT HER!?" I heard Harley question.

Before I even knelt down beside Ivy, I stopped myself. I had to end this.
