hello again lovelies! trying to get this out there at supersonic speed, so forgive me for the iffyness in editing ect. but anyways, this is a continuation of the last chapter, about two days after. (presuming your period lasts that long - curse you lucky bastards who get out in three days and such. you guys suck. sincerely, a seven day sufferer.) enjoy!
"One bacon cheeseburger with a side of fries, one grilled chicken and strawberry salad, and three baskets of deep fried chicken, extra crispy. Enjoy your meal!" The pretty waitress flashed a dead-inside-from-working-here smile as she handed out your platters of food. Sam and Dean both watched you in slight awe as you immediately began wolfing down fried chicken leg after fried chicken leg.
"What? You'be seen me eab lots bebore, don gimme thad look," you barely managed out around your mouthful of food. Sam let out a chuckle and Dean took a bite of his own burger, eyes still glued to you with fascination and suspicion.
"Yeah, I know, it's just... It's hard for me to believe someone as small as you can eat that much sometimes. It's still unsettling every time I see you eat," Sam says, poking around at his salad as he explains himself. Dean just slowly brings fries to his mouth, never ceasing to watch you.
"Hey! I'm bot small, I am proudby aberage. You're the moose," you point a chicken bone at him jokingly to imply him guilty, and Sam laughs again at your response.
"You do have a valid point, I guess," you two smile at each other as he starts to put a dent in his own plate. You glance at Dean as you start on your second platter of chicken, and surprise, surprise - he's still just staring at you.
It's been like this ever since that first morning. For the most part, Dean was doing pretty well at following Sam's advice, but... key word: most. He had this look he kept giving you - one of accusation. Like he was thinking you're on your period. You're on your period and I know it. Just break down and cry already! I know you're on your period. Stop acting so normal. I know your secrets. All of your secrets are in my head. Hear me? I know. I see you go into the bathroom. I see you. But you had decided it just wasn't worth your time to pay him any mind. After all, the chicken was, no pun intended, downright heavenly.
- (scene away from you)
"Dude, you suck at this," Sam said to his older brother. The pair was stalking through a big business corporation's empty weekend halls, guns raised as they searched for the source of trouble in the small town they spent way too long in the impala to get to.
"Excuse me? You're the one stomping around, begging to be found," Dean fired back, both still talking in slightly hushed tones.
"Not hunting, you idiot. I mean dealing with periods. Now that we're alone, I must say, you really suck at it," they turned another sharp corner, not really looking at each other while conversing, their heads on a swivel to lookout instead.
"What's that supposed to mean? I bought chocolate. I didn't say anything when I had to pay for that order of enough chicken to feed an army, or-"
"Yeah, sure, you didn't say anything, but you might as well have. It's not all that unusual for each of us to order meals much bigger than that and do nothing more than blame it on hunting working up our appetite. But now, you get this weird look in your eyes. I can see it and you aren't even directing it at me. That's not good. You gotta reign it in, dude. Periods don't turn people into aliens, you know. It's just blood. And we know our way around blood," now done clearing the second to last floor, Dean paused and lowered his weapon to shoot his brother a look.
"You think I don't know that? But, I do blood from, from cuts, from freaking stab wounds. Not..." Dean glanced around, and leaned in close to whisper to Sam, who had by now put on a 'bitch, please' face.
"Not vaginas! In my world, those things don't bleed!" Sam's tolerance for his idiotic brother ran out in that second. He opened his mouth, surely about to slay with sass, but a loud bang from above silenced them as they jumped into defensive positions with guns raised.
"This isn't over. You need to work on your relationship skills," Sam seethed through his teeth, but Dean only put on a determined face and rushed off to the stairwell. Sam sighed, having no choice but to follow him and switch gears back into hunting. But he meant what he said - you deserved better than constant glaring, and he was going to help you get more out of his brother if it killed him. Someone deserved to see his caring side.
- (meanwhile..)
Staring at the roof of the Impala, laying across the back seat, you felt like shit. You sure as hell couldn't sleep, and the last traces of the sun in the sky would be gone soon. Sam and Dean had been gone on their end of the hunt for hours now, which didn't surprise you. They had taken on the kill this time because you had conned your way through the building yesterday for information, which had made you too recognizable to pass the front door security guards. In your head, the plan made reasonable sense, but you couldn't help but feel antsy about being stuck in an empty motel parking lot with the boys out risking their lives. You wanted to take action, alas, you had to settle for doing nothing but waiting for a call from the boys letting you know they were on their way. As time passed, you started to feel that maybe you could just let sleep take you after all...
"(Y/n)? Hello? You in there? Sam, where is- oh. Backseat," Dean's voice felt very very very far away. There was a click, a shuffle, and then a poke at your leg that was distinctly your boyfriend. Sitting up and rubbing your eyes, you smiled at him as he leaned down to see you through the door he had opened.
"Hey, baby. How you feeling?" Gaining a better grip on your senses, you see that Dean is covered in blood; most of it appeared to not be his, but there was a relatively small slice in his neck that you still couldn't help but wince at.
"Oh? Not good?" He must've misread your face of concern as one of pain, and you opened your mouth to correct him, but he stopped you. Next thing you know, he's pulled you up and out of the car and shut the door behind you. Dean doesn't initiate any contact, as he rarely does if he doesn't mean to have sex, but you can tell he has intentions of letting you hug him by simply looking at his eyes staring into yours in a way they hadn't all week. So you take your chance and embrace him, tightly. Pretty sure you were alone in the parking lot since was Sam still shuffling around in the back of the van they stole, you let your eyes drift closed again, focusing on being in his arms.
He was warm and strong and just a tad bigger than you, and the comfort you found with your head on his shoulder was typically unmatched. But as soon as you leaned in to assume the familiar position, you had to pull away quickly and laugh. Dean gave you a pained look, and you knew he was pouting at the fact that you ditched his effort to be sweet to you.
"I'm sorry, I just... Your neck is still bleeding, I.. well, nevermind. I guess I got you bloody not that long ago, huh? I'll hug you. I would love to hug you. C'mere. No, no, wait, Dean, come back. Yeah, yeah. Back in my arms... like this," he tried to shake you off, but you gripped at his back and shoulder blades, which you knew he couldn't pull away from.
"Thank you," you whispered after some time, and he started to loosen his grip on you as you said it, but you shoved yourself even closer to him as a sign that he wasn't allowed to let go yet. He readjusted and put his chin back on top of your head, giving your hair a quick peck before doing so.
"You know, I'm new to this whole thing, and I'm not the best at, well, anything, and, well.... I'm glad to have you here, (y/n), that's all. I'm glad I have you."
holy moly, how long are these supposed to be? is this stuff overboard or average or not nearly enough? does anybody know what's considered normal length here??
