As the minutes ticked on during the night, soon turning into hours, Dorothy lay in her bed, waiting for the grandfather clock to strike twelve as a growing pit of anxiety swelled up in her stomach. Memories of the maids gruesome deaths replayed in her head.
She remembered the first death, when she decided to take a walk around the house. Her waking up from unconsciousness, to find the maids stiff body in front of her, the maids brown lifeless eyes staring back at her in terror, outfit streaked with blood... Dorothy would never forget those eyes... Those soulless eyes, staring straight through her own.
Dorothy shuddered at the thought. Stop thinking about it, Dorothy. It's not going to help at all. Not at all...
Dorothy shook her head, and looked up at the grandfather clock. Not like she could see what time it was, anyways. It was pitch black in the room, so dark that Dorothy couldn't even see her own hand in front of her face.
Dorothy tried to think about positive things, but she couldn't with what was going on. After the first maids death, her family had gotten very protective of Dorothy, not allowing her to do any or much activities with the maids and servants anymore. They wouldn't even let her go outside of the property...
Unfortunately for Dorothy, this lead her on to the next brutal maid murder.
While searching for Sue during a game of hide and seek, soon after his- Very disturbing- message, saying that if she loses a game, her family will have to pay a consequence. After giving up after an hour of searching, Dorothy blacked out once again. She woke up and seen the maid has been hanged by a garden vine... It was the most disturbing sight Dorothy has ever seen.
Trying to erase the thought from her head, Dorothy looked over to the clock.
3:00 A.M. It's time. Time to go confront him.
Dorothy slowly slipped a foot over the bed, lighting the candle that she hid. The dim light revealing only a small portion of the room around her. She looked aimlessly around the room, trying to find the door. Her eyes flashed in a tint of nervousness once the moment she lay her eyes on it.
She hesitantly took a step towards the door.Tap
Tap
Step after step, Dorothy eventually arrived at the door. The large oak piece loomed over the twelve year old, daring... Threatening, her to walk inside. It reflected off her eyes as the pit of anxiety grew. She wanted nothing more than to run back to bed right now and to pretend this whole thing never happened.
She wanted to fall asleep, wake up and have a normal day. No maids dying, no policemen, no contract...
'I started this. Now I have to end this. I will find out the cause of this and stop it, once and for all.' Taking a deep breath in, Dorothy opened the door, it making a creaking sound as the darkness met her eyes. Staring down at it, she gulped nervously and descended down the dark, stone cold steps, trying her best to avoid the growing pit of anxiety in her stomach.
Creeaaak
The creaking of the door gave Dorothy shudders, even more about the fact on what could be waiting for her down there. The pitch blackness..... Sucking up her courage, Dorothy took a small step into the darkness. Her legs seemed to collapse from underneath her... It was nearly impossible to even stand. Step by step, Dorothy made her way down the stairs and into the cold, murky basement.

The darkness of the basement seemed to swallow everything, even the light of the candle. Even with this disadvantage, she could still slighty make out her surroundings. Suddenly, a thought flashed across her head. Should she call out for Sue? Or should she look around for him?
After thinking on the subject for a while, she finally decided on the later. After all, if she were to call out for Sue her parents might awaken. Imagine how upset they'd be, finding out that she was wandering around so late at night, in the sewers? She couldn't even imagine what their punishment might be. Shaking the thought from her head, The twelve year old made her way down the hallway, enveloped in the small warm circle of candlelight.
Soon, Dorothy came to a stop. There was a door to the left of her, and a door in front of her. She frowned and sighed in dismay, a small mutter of words coning from her mouth. "Who knew that the sewers could have so many twists and turns.....?" She took a step towards the door in front of her, but almost as quickly took a step back.
Her gut told- No, practically screamed, 'Dorothy, if you take that door bad things will happen!' (*Professor Oak voice* "Dorothy, now is not the time for that!"... I'll wait.)
