Dorothy had now regained her composure after her tears from earlier, taking a shaky breath and standing up, the only noise coming from the movement from her skirt. This silence..... Perhaps I could use it to my advantage, Dorothy thought to herself, rubbing her eyes and sniffing, soon smoothing out the creases on her skirt. Yes.... I can use this silence to my advantage indeed! I can hear different things around me, and maybe find someone else in this house. I could also make this out as a calming silence as for when I feel sad...
Dorothy smiled to herself, happy about the fact she had already made good things out of a bad situation. She looked around at the surrounding oakwood doors. She already entered from the one on her right, so she knew what was there, and there was no use trying to open the entryway door, as it was locked.... So that left her with the choice of the one in front of her or the one on her left.... An unhappy frown had made its way onto Dorothy's lips as she decided between the two, furrowing her eyebrows at the decision.
After much thought, Dorothy had walked over to the door in front of her, and gently placed her gloved hand onto the golden knob, twisting it and slowly opening the door that had made an unpleasant creaking noise upon it's opening... Dorothy didn't know what to expect on the other side, with what she had heard and seen already.
When she opened the door she was met with a comfy feeling room. Could it of been a drawing room? The carpet was a golden yellow with rose designs on it. In the middle was yet another dark red carpet with delicate embroidery surrounding it. There were four beige couches, organized in parallel pairs of two. Two polished tables sat between both.
On the table to the left side there was an ordinary tea set. There was a small white tea cup with red rings near the top, along with the small white plate it sat on. Next to it was the matching white teapot. This teapot in particular had a red cross on the side. (I don't know if it's a flower or a cross, so I'm gonna go with cross cause that's what it seems like-) Dorothy examined it, deciding to get a closer look. Maybe there was a note under the tea set somewhere explaining all this? She hoped so. Dorothy looked underneath the tea pot (which was unfourtunately empty at the time) to come up with nothing.
Furrowing her brows in disappointment, she checked the tea cup but to no avail. She stood up from her crouched position and studied the room a bit more, looking about. Something had soon caught her eyes on the other table, it seemed to be exactly what she was looking for. A note. Smiling happily, Dorothy nearly flew towards it, picking up the carelessly discarded, and somewhat old looking paper, she read the most horrifying and disappointing word she could ever expect to cone out of that sheet of paper.
Watching.
Dorothy's hopes dampened as she set down the piece of paper, looking around the room once more and half expecting someone or something to be there. Which brought her to her next thought; Part of her hopes this is just some cruel joke, and the other part of her wants to hit the person pulling the strings to this in the face. Letting out a small giggle, Dorothy shook her head and toddled (because toddled is a great word) over to a nearby drawer. There were two small plants of sorts on top, along with an empty picture frame. She blinked at the emptiness of the frame, then checked the first drawer. Nothing. The second drawer? Nothing there either.
She pulled away, and examined the shelf next to the drawer. On each and every row of it, expensive looking glassware was neatly arranged. Still nothing. Her next stop was obvious, the shelf full of books to the left of the drawer. Dorothy decided to check the room later. As she walked over to it, she admired the painting next to it, labeled in fancy cursive lettering 'The Girl With the Pearl Earrings'. It shown a beautiful woman with pearl earrings that shone brightly, causing her to stand out even more. She had a gorgeous smile on.
Dorothy admired it for a while longer and continued on, looking at the bookshelf. There were different books titled the following; The Art of Entertaining
The Most Famous Entertainer
How to Entertain With Kindness
Dorothy skimmed through them. All these books were difficult. Putting them back onto the shelf, Dorothy looked towards the door between the shelf, walking over to it and testing the knob, giving it a few good tugs before realizing, much to her chagrin, it was locked. A key was required to open this door. Perhaps it was lying around the house somewhere? Wherever it was, Dorothy was going to find it and see what was behind that door.
She turned around and headed for the entryway, then going towards the only door she hasn't opened, the one towards the left. Thankfully, this door wasn't locked. Dorothy opened the door and looked around the room she had entered in awe.
The carpeting was a deep purple. There were an arrangement of couches exactly like the last, except these couches were a vibrant cranberry red. On each of the tables, there were small lamps each providing light, along with elegant chandeliers that lined the wall. There were beautiful dark pink curtains that had a golden trimming around the top. There was also a fireplace that seemed scorching hot..... Dorothy made a mental note to stay away from it.
Next to the fireplace there was a dusty piano. There was a music score on top, along with a flower vase. Dorothy couldn't help but notice there was yet two other doors to enter through, maybe after she explored this room, of course. She walked towards the couches, examining the dusty books that lay near the lamp. These didn't seem to be of much use, so Dorothy didn't bother looking through them. She then walked over to the next set of couches, taking her notice of a dusty doll, something poking out from it. When Dorothy lifted it up, she saw that there were two matches underneath of it. 'I can use these, possibly.' She thought to herself. She reached to grab the matches, and put them in her dress pocket.
She then tried to read a nearby open book, but the soot made it impossible to read. Frowning to herself, she backed off and entered the room closest to her and the doll.
She was met with darkness.

Yay!! Another chapter done!! ^^ I also used an interesting practice to make chapters go by quicker for those who have writers block!!! Here it is:Write at least 250 words a day, and by four days, you have 1000 words!!!
This suddenly came into mind while I was eating dinner and thinking over this fanfic, and thinking of ways of dividing it into a short number of words in a short number of days, and then this suddenly came to mind (I have no idea if it's an actual thing or not). I have also figured out a reason as to why I have writers block....
I can't motherfucking focus.
Like, I'm not trying to make excuses, I just realized that whenever I try making a chapter, I do good a couple sentences, then my mind drifts to tap dancing hot dogs, so I start thinking on that subject, and soon one thought drifts to another, and by a couple of hours I realize I only got 13 words in. .-.
I guess that's my curse-
But besides which, I hope that you'll all look forward to the next chapter!!
