Chapter 10

“We’re vampires.” Craig said.

His words hit me like a brick wall. No way. Their probably on some major crank right now. Yea that’s just it. There’s no way they are vampires. And if they were why would they tell me when I just met them. I was silently thinking to myself staring at the ground. I felt like my heart was about ready to pound out of my chest. I felt like I was about to explode.

“Hey, Ophelia you need to breath.” Monte said patting me on the back.

Then I realized that I had been holding in my breath. I looked up at them. They were all four standing there looking down at me. I spun on my heels and started to walk towards the woods. I could feel them walking behind me. I just wondered aimlessly through the woods trying to think why even though it sounded so crazy I wanted to believe it. I found a stump in what I was guessing was the middle of the woods. I sat down and put my head between my legs. 

“I don’t understand.” I whispered. I felt a hand on my back.

“What don’t you understand?” Max asked me.

“If it’s true, why would you tell me? I mean we just met. You saved my life and I thank you for that but why would you say something like that when were practically strangers.” I said turning to him looking him in his eyes.

“Oh, we’ve known you your entire life. Every time you thought you were alone, we were there. When your mother died, Craig saved you. When you were about to drown Monte heard you. I’ve known you since you were a baby. I knew your mom Melissa. I’ve always known you. You just didn’t know we were watching over you.” He said pulling me into a hug. I felt several other arms wrap around us.
