Katie's POV
"Hun, time for Dinner." Mom says.
"I'm not hungry."
"You didn't eat lunch. You also didn't eat any chips. Something's up?" She asks.
"I'm really fine. I promise. I'm not yet hungry." I smile, reassuringly. Then my stomach growls. Damn you, stomach.
She gives me a look. "Come on. Downstairs. Now."
I groan silently. "Okay."
We walk slowly down the stairs. I look around the kitchen. It's been 12 hours, Kitchy, I thought. I slowly sit on the chair. I feel like vomiting when I saw the food.
I pick up my fork and try eating the pasta mom made. I shove it in my mouth. I feel like vomiting. I try my best to swallow it. I shove more pasta in my mouth, I feel vomiting more. I drink some water, nothing happened.
"Excuse me." I mutter, running towards the bathroom.
I close the bathroom door and kneel down the toilet. I start vomiting out my meals. I sit there for a few moments. I feel better. I slowly stand up and flush the vomit away. I look at the mirror. Wow, I look pale. I wash my face. Nothing happened again.
*
Its been ten days since he called. I have to face the consequences, He already forgot about me. He lied. I'm an idiot for believing his words. I've been home for ten days. He should be calling me everyday telling me that he misses me or whatever. He promised about us. He promised me he will never forget about me. Well, he broke his promises.
My phone starts ringing. I crawl my way to get it. I tap Answer. "Hello?"
"Katie!!!!" A voice yells.
"Who's this?"
"Kat. You already forgotten about me?"
"Oh, I'm sorry Kristen. I've been busy thinking of something else. Sorry. How are you? I miss you!" I smile a little.
"I thought you forgotten!" She giggles. "I'm good, how about you?"
"I think I'm fine." I reply. "I miss you so much!"
"Girl, you have no idea how much we miss you!" She says.
We? I think. "Wait, what? We?" I ask.
"Oh yeah! Miran, Leila and I!" She says, happily. "Wait. You remember Miran right?"
I nod. "Oh yes! Your pup?"
"You were nodding weren't you?" She laughs. "Yeah! How do you still remember Miran but forgot about me?"
"Stop being a drama queen, Kristen." I shake my head. "You said Leila before right?"
"Yeaaaah!"
"What about Nick?" I ask, softly.
I hear her sigh. "I haven't seen him, Kat. I'm sorry."
"Leila knows something about him, doesn't she?"
"Kat. This isn't why I called you. Can we please change the subject?" She asks.
"Right. Sorry about that. He hasn't been contacting me that's all. How's Leila?"
"She's fine. She's already half my size."
"Kristen, she's been half your size since the first time I saw her." I joke.
She whines. "HEY!"
"Kidding!" I laugh.
"For a kid, she's really huge." She whispers. Something tells me that Leila is with her.
"Nah. You're just small." I reply.
"KATIE! YOU'RE SO MEAN."
"You better not pout, you better not shout." I say, singing.
"It's not yet Christmas. Calm down, Reindeer."
"I CAN SING WHATEVER I WANT!" I laugh.
"Katie. Someone wants to talk to you. . ." She says, slowly.
"Uh, sure. I'll be fine. Who is it?"
"HI KATIEEEEEE!" A younger voice says.
"Leila?!? I missed you so so much!" I half-yell.
"We miss you so so much too!" She says.
"How have you been?" I ask.
"I grew taller!" She giggles. "How about you?"
"I have been fine." I lie. "Can I ask you something?"
"Yes! Sure! Anything!" She says, happily.
"Uh, How's Nick doing?"
"Oh." Her voice drops. "He's been weird. He's not really talking that much."
"Is he always busy?"
"I don't know. He's been out. He only comes back at night."
My heart falls. "Is he dating someone else at the moment?"
"I don't know, Katie. I don't really know." She says.
I have a feeling that there's something not good happening. I have a feeling that Nick is hiding something. I have a feeling that he's doing something not good at the moment. Where are you, Nick?
