Chapter 1

(Kira POV)

I open my eyes to the sound of my mother banging on my door for me to wake up.

"Ky, get up!" She yelled still banging on the door.

"I'm up. I'm up. Damn." I whispered the last part kicking in the bed because I'm not a morning person. I hate waking up, but I guess I have to go to school.

I wake up going to do my usually routine. I wash my face, brush my teeth, and I get in the shower. Then I get dressed and do my hair. I put on my black pants, with a purple tank, some all purple Jordans, and I threw on my 'queens' necklace. I grabbed my school bag and then ranned downstairs. My mother, sister were already in the kitchen.

*I forgot to mention, that Kira has a sister,Simone, who is 17.*

"Good morning, my babies." My mother said fixing us a plate. She had made bacon, eggs, and grits.

"Good morning, mom." I said smiling at her.

"Yeah. Morning" My sister said. She isn't a morning person either.

We sat there and chatted eating breakfast, just me, my mom, and sister because my dad had already left for work.

"Okay, time to go! C'mon Mone." I yelled walking out the door.

20 minutes later.

I parked in my parking spot, and walked up to the school. Mone had walked in with her friend, Unique. I was in the front talking to my girls, Kevia and Money.

"Hey bish!" Kevia yelled out to me as I approached them.

"Hey!" I said back, while Money opened up the door so we can walk down the hallway together.

"Hey, Ky!" Money finally spoke to me as we were about to walk down the hall.

"Wassup?" I asked.

"Nothing girl, just tired. I'm tired of waking up every morning for school." She sighed.

"Right." I said.

"But today is Friday. So... You already know we finna go hit up that party tonight." Kevia said.

"What party?"

"Oh, you didn't know... Leon's brother is throwing a party and he invited us to come." She said winking at me. She knows I just like him as a friend so why is she winking.

I know Leon he always tries to get at me, but I just like him as a friend. Which is why, he probably invited us, to get at me. But I think he just be playing, you know and because he is also one of my boy bestfriends, like we brothers and sisters. We play like that, like when we go to parties he'll always have his arms wrapped around me, but we just bestfriends. We act like a couple.

"I don't like him. Omg. Yall know I'm not tryna date nobody, I'm sticking to getting my education." I say super serious.

"I know. But it's been almost two years since---" She paused because speaking of the devil, here he comes.

"Wassup, bestfriend?" Leon says to me, smiling a little to hard.

"Hey. And who is bestfriend? It betta be me." I smile.

"You my bestfriend, bighead." He grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Ugh. You gone kill me." I said like I'm out of breath because he was hugging me to tight. Like foreal, he can't be hugging me like that as small as I am.

"Oh, my bad..." He said as we all walked down the hall.

It was just me and him now, we dropped off kevia and Money at their class. Leon always walks me to class everyday.
