Lyall Lupin didn't hate werewolves. In fact, he rather liked them, but his job was his job. The Ministry of Magic, where he worked, had sent him to investigate a large gathering of werewolves not far from the Ministry. He was walking so as not to disturb the Muggles in the area.

As he walked along the path towards the clearing where the gathering had been held, Lyall pondered what the gathering could mean. All of a sudden, the leaves of a bush off to his right rustled in time to his fast pace. he stopped and listened, but heard nothing. he stretched, so as to look natural, and continued his journey. The rustling started up again. Whatever it was had been following him.

"I know you're there," Lyall called. "Come out and state your buisness."

A dark voiced answered, lacing the words with a subtle venom, but Lyall did not fail to notice.

"Now why would I do that, Lupin?"

"I've got my wand out, and won't hesitate to use it. Lyall turned to face the voice, pulling out his wand.

"I'll humor you, Lupin, just this once."

A cloaked figure stepped out from behind a tree and folded down his hood.

"Fenrir Greyback." Lyall was the one venomous now, he practically growled out the name.

"Well now, don't get hostile," Fenrir smirked. "It sounds like you are the werewolf around here, not me."

"Why were so may werewolves gathered here last night? And we both know that the full moon isn't for a few weeks yet, Greyback."

"That's none of your buisness, wizard"

"And I know that," Lyall ran his hand through his hair nervously. "I'm just doing my job. Answer my question, no names unless you want to give them. If you don't give me that, I'll be forced to bring you back for interrogation."

"You'll get that information over my dead body, Lupin. Do what you will, just know that I don't forget, much less forgive. Come at me."

"Your death would be counter productive," the ministry worker continued calmly, casting spells to paralyze and levitate the werewolf. "Petrificus Totalus. Wingardium Leviosa."

Lyall began the long walk back to the Ministry.
