Remus was worried about his sister. She had gone quiet, practicing transfiguration constantly, only taking when spoken to. He tried to talk to her, but she only made formal responses and went back to work.

Everything came clear on Rory's tenth birthday. She woke up early, and just like every other day, no one else was awake yet. She tried the Animagus spell, and to get surprise, it finally worked. She lifted what used to be and and saw feathers. Oh, I'm a bird, She thought. I wonder what kind...
Rory flew down to the kitchen once she had control of her wings. After several minutes, her father came down.
"Aren't you a pretty bird? Who sent you with a letter? I don't recognize you."
Oh! She thought jubilantly. I'm an owl!! She flew to the floor and transformed back into her human form.
"R-Rory??" Her father stammered. "You did it!!! Go tell Mum and Remus, okay?"
"Yes, Daddy!" She replied, going back to her snowy owl self.

Hope woke up to an owl beating its wings in her face. That owl turned into her daughter.
"Rory!! You did it!" Hope exclaimed. "You make a beautiful snowy, you know."
"Thank you, Mum! Dad wants you downstairs so that you can start breakfast. You know what I want. I'm gonna get Remus!"
"I'll be down soon, dear. Do be careful with your brother though, okay?"
"Yes mum."

Remus woke up to the cooing of an owl.
"Go away. I don't want a letter this early." He grumbled.
The owl stopped and was replaced with his sister's voice.
"That's no way you treat your sister." She scolded.
"Huh? What-? Do you mean you're an owl??"
She giggled. "Oh that's right!! It was a surprise for you. You won't be alone on full moons anymore. I'm an Animagus!!"
"Rory!! You shouldn't have done that!! There's really no need- so THAT'S why you were always doing transfiguration!!"
"Yup," Rory called from the hallway. "By the way, mum's making double chocolate pancakes for my birthday, peasant."
She's back, he thought. She's back to calling me peasant, to loving chocolate and jokes. She's back!! Remus was overjoyed.

Sorry about the short chapter, it will be longer next week.
