the group of four appeared in Diagon Alley in a puff of green smoke and split into two groups. Lyall and Rorina headed off in one direction, while Remus and Hope walked purposefully towards the bookstore.
Lyall led Rorina to a small, secluded alley and warned her to be quiet.
"I know that this will be hard for you to understand," he started gently. "But - oh, I've got to be blunt, dang, there's no other way - ...You're not a Lupin, Rory. You're father was a friend of mine at school as was your birth mother... Your father, John Greengrass, was a pureblood. Your mother was Alyssa Weasley, also a pureblood. You were given to me only a year after Remus was born, by Alyssa Weasley. She came to my office and told me the story of how your father had been... killed by his older brother for marrying a 'blood traitor' and 'tainting the Greengrass bloodline'. His family wishes to meet you though, and Hope and I gave them one week over Christmas break, if you agreed to go, that is."
"I'll go, Dad. I'd like to meet my old family. Know what they're like..." Rory decided. "You and Mum will always be my parents, though, and Rem will be my brother. No one can stop us from being family, from being together. No one."
