It was Kallisto's birthday. She was excited to officially be 15. She felt like this was the special year. She didn't know why, she just did. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair was shoulder length now. In another year, it would probably be around her shoulder blades.
She was wearing a sky blue dress with a black belt. She didn't have shoes on because she was at home. Her dad was out getting her something. She didn't know what, though. Just then, someone knocked on the door.
"Hellooooooo?" A familiar voice sang. Kallisto opened the door to see Allison and Blake surprise her with a hug. Kallisto grinned from ear to ear.
"You guys came!" She squealed.
"Well yeah. Have I ever missed a party of yours?"
"In sixth grade when you got dared to drink the chunky milk and you were sick for a whole week."
"Hey, you weren't suppose answer that."
Kallisto chuckled. She led everyone to the kitchen where they nibbled on some tortilla chips and salsa. When Blake asked about the cake, Kallisto said that their were only cupcakes.
"Why cupcakes? Why not cake?" Blake asked rather childishly.
"Well, child, it my party and cupcakes are just baby sized cakes."
Blake sighed and muttered a defeated "okay". Then someone knocked.
"Agents, we have been apprehended," Kallisto said. She trotted to the door and looked through the peephole. "State your name and purpose."
"I am here to celebrate your birthday, sir." The person on the other side said. Kallisto laughed at his willingness to play along. When she opened the door, she was greeted with a hug and a kiss on the forehead. "Happy birthday, Sergeant."
"Thanks," Kallisto said. Then she eyed the small paper bag that he was holding. "Whatcha got in there?"
"A little something for you."
Kallisto squealed like a happy two year old. "Okay, so, I was raised to have cake before we opened presents, sooo lets eat!"
"But there's only cupcakes," Marcus stated.
"Same thing!"

Blake was trying to get the frosting off of his nose. The cupcakes had too much. He really wished he could see his own nose. It would make the job so much easier. Especially since his friends were not helping.
Kallisto went and sat down on the couch. She put the two presents around her. "Who's should I open first?"
"Open mine," Marcus said. He pushed the small paper bag towards Kallisto. She smiled and began taking out the beautiful tissue paper. At the bottom was a small something wrapped in tissue paper. She pulled it out and took of the tissue paper that was wound around it. She gasped when she saw that she was holding a small black unicorn.
"I love it! Thank you so much!" She exclaimed happily. Marcus received a hug and a kiss on the nose.
"Now you open ours," Allison said, pointing at she and Blake. She pushed a small black box to Kallisto.
Kallisto took the box and looked at it. It looked expensive. She wondered how much Allison had paid for it. Probably a lot, Kallisto thought to herself. She felt the velvety box with her thumb. Taking in a small breath, she opened the box and almost burst into tears.
The topaz pendant.
Tears welled up and almost spilled out. She had wanted it so bad. She had beaten herself up over putting it off. She didn't have enough money to buy it. Now she had it. She was so happy. But that still left something in her head...
"Blake and I saw you looking at it the other day," Allison said with a smile.
"We kinda figured that you wanted it, do we got it for you," Blake said, "It took both of our money stores, though."
Allison smacked him on the arm. "Can I pay you back?" Kallisto asked.
"NOPE! Child that is unnecessary," Allison shrieked in an amusingly alarmed tone. Kallisto laughed a little. She looked at the glittering piece of topaz in her hands. She sighed happily, mainly because she couldn't believe that she now had the necklace. She then figured that she should put it away.
"I'll be right back, folks," Kallisto said. She walked to her room and dug around her drawer for the tin box that she kept the stuff in. Once she found it and pulled it out, she put the necklace in the box. She sighed and closed the box.
Mom, I'm waiting for you. Please come back.

Everyone was gone. Kallisto was winding down on her bed while reading a book. She closed her book and snuggled into her covers. She closed her eyes and waited for sleep to take over. She then heard somethings in the kitchen.
Kallisto thought that it was just because she was tired, so she shrugged it off and got back on her covers. She then heard another noise in the kitchen. This time, she got up, grabbed her book, and silently padded into the kitchen. A soft, blue light was covering everything in its color. Kallisto peeked through her doorway.
In the kitchen was a woman that looked strangely familiar but Kallisto could have sworn that she had never met or seen this woman before. Her hair was thigh length and dark chocolate brown. It was slightly wavy with loose curls at the ends. She wore a Greek style white dress and golden sandals. On the top of her head was a crown of golden leaves and on her back were two, big, white wings. Just like Kallisto's.
The woman was inspecting the kitchen. Her wings obviously didn't quite fit. While looking through the silverware drawer, she knocked over a wine bottle. She just barely managed to catch it. While diving to catch it, however, she hit the stack of drying dishes and sent a plate flying. When she dove for that, she knocked over a vase, and the cycle kept repeating until she had a fragile item on every appendage. That's when Kallisto decided to speak up.
"Who are you and why are you in my house?"
