"Morning sweetie time to get up" called my mum from down stairs. I wanted to go back to bed it was so comfy!
"Just five more minutes?" i called down
"your going to be late come downstairs for breakfast right now Eve!" she replied. I slowly got out of bed and yawned loudly, i hate Monday mornings as much as the next teenager but i really hated this one, today is... exam day!
"you ready for the big day?!" queried my mum
"i guess." i replied with another yawn. Just then my dad walked in through the front door throwing up at every step. I gave my mum the look i always gave him when he came home like this, the sort of look that says "why do you put up with him, just get rid of him already!" and she just sighed and walked over to help him.
"do you want a hand honey?" she spoke kindly like she really cared but we both knew deep down she didn't really, she's just to kind to get rid of him because his family all died in a car crash last summer. He just shoved her out the way into the wall and stumbled into the kitchen to the fridge to get a drink, probably a beer even though it's 8 am he had seen me watching him out of the corner of my eye.
"what is it you want girl? Just because you have the same surname as me miss Eve Nightshade doesn't mean that i have to have a care in the world for you!" he screamed at me, i sighed and looked at the clock and realised i was going to miss the bus if i didn't hurry, i looked over to my mum with a sympathetically look then left for school.
I got to the bus stop just in time. The bus was just about to leave, but luckily someone had seen me and made the driver wait while i ran over and got onboard. As I got on everyone was watching me, just because I'm different. I mean they don't even bother asking me why I'm always depressed and sad, they all seem to think that I'm that kind of person who has no friends because i cant be bothered to get any, really though it's just because I'm shy.
I wish people would stop staring I'm sat in my seat at the front of the classroom in form, why did my mum have to marry a jerk with the surname Nightshade seriously.
Anyway our first exam was at second lesson it was English lit. I guess that I'm alright at English lit but not the best that would be Aaron Williams, and he's just amazing with his well defined cheek bones, not like I like him out anything, well I shouldn't even if I did he's popular, and I'm just the girl in the shadows that nobody knows.
