"Hey darling are you still job hunting? If so I have got an amazing opportunity for you!" "Hello to you too mum! What opportunity?" I stare out of the car window and watch as scenery goes by. "Well my friend ,the one who you know. Sarah. Well her daughter Bethany has just opened her own salon. Sure I know you've got no experience but as she knows you I'm pretty sure she'll at least give you a chance? What do you think?" I bite my lip nervously. It has became a habit of my own after watching Noah do it so many times. "How far away is it?" "Well from here it's 40 minuets but from where you are it will only take a short 15? The pay is good at £8.50 per hour?" I can tell in her voice she is trying to convince me. She just wants me to settle down with a job however I'm still only 17 ,I turn 18 in two weeks time but I am still studying in college. I'd rather have my dream job at 30 after working hard for it ,than a quick job at the age of 17 which is not what I want to do permanently. "Fine. I'll give it a go but you do realise this isn't going to change my mind about becoming a photographer. Right?" I can hear her let out a deep sigh on the other end of the phone. She sounds defeated. It only just then came to my attention that she is permanently ill. How could I forget? I'm such a crap daughter! "Hey mum! One day you will have to come here! See the college and dorm. We could go out for dinner. Besides there's someone who I want you to meet?" I ask nervously. Whilst trying to change the subject and give her something to look forward to ,I am quite nervous. I've never introduced a boy to my parents before. I notice Noah look at me and smile slightly when I ask the question. If I'm going to meet his parents. I want him to meet mine. "Oh my gosh ,I'd love to! Is this certain someone a boy?" She laughs curiously. That's how I remember my mum ,she's not quiet or hardly ever sad and so when she is it pains me to hear her. The next 5 minuets is her asking questions about Noah. Obviously with him sitting next to me I can only say "yes" or "no" when we make it back to our room I end the call with a "bye ,love you! Take care!" I sit on the sofa whilst I immediately check my phone. It's become a habit to look on social media when I get home from school. "So you think I'm good looking?" I look up to see him also on his phone. Playing candy crush again probably. I quickly avoid his gaze. "I never said that!" "I heard your mum Naomi. She has quite a loud voice to say she's 55!" he chuckles continuously. I thought by just saying yes or no ,it would be discreet? Obviously not. I walk over to his side of the couch. "You're right ,you are good looking" I say as I ruffle his hair playfully. "Hah!" He shouts pointing at me. "But I'm better looking er!" I scream as I run into my bedroom and lock the door before he can catch me. "Better looking er isn't a word!" He shouts back in response whilst hammering on the door...
