I'm a little worried

Recently things have been happening

I saw someone using my art as a ref for their OC...

And I also saw someone else doing the same but to a different artist

And I know that I've seen it happen alot in Wattpad but also in alot of other social medias!!

Guys

This is not right

Using someone else's artwork is VERY disrespectful to an artist, especially if you don't ask for permission

I also saw someone highly referencing my work too, and I'm not happy about

I don't appreciate my work being traced, used, highly referenced without my permission

Luckily, I've talked to them in PM and asked them to take it down and they understood and apologized and did what I asked, LUCKILY

Most of the other theifs are highly disrespectful and rude to an artist and refuse to take it down and still claim it as their own

And other artist can agree to this

Art theft is a serious problem guys, you are stealing someone else's work and taking as your own, it's rude and disrespectful to the artist. They put their time and effort into it and then someone just takes it as their own.

I saw a post somewhere saying that this artist had just heard about some student entered their own work into a national competition and they had won a gold medal and a scholarship by using someone else's work!! And it happened three years ago!! The only thing the original artist can do is to contact the school and the people who hosted the competition and tell them that they stole their work.

If your using someone else's work, ask before you do it!! And give credit to them!!

I don't want you guys to get in trouble but please, use your own artwork or give credit and ask for permission. And with effort and lots of practice, I promise that you can make beautiful artwork someday
