SABTI POV

I gotta stop having these wet dreams, for real! Got a bitch ovaries going everywhere. Anywho, I'm in the States because it's Chris' time with the girls. Of course, Chris had to see his P.O. for the gun charges and I had to leave the girls with his dad, Clinton. I trust him far more than his mother. I don't know if I should call that woman Joyce or Mrs. Voorhees....see where I'm going there? After dropping them off, I went to my art studio in Coconut Grove to visit my niece Kehlani. She's a singer and is my sister Topaz' oldest child. I'm so proud of her! I've been letting her stay in the studio whilst I'm home in Honduras and she's been blowing up so hard I can't believe how far she has come!

When I got up there, I noticed a young man with dreadlocks and tattoos, glancing at me with a mega watt smile, kinda like the one Chris had when we first met.

Me: Hi there? Who are you? LANI!!!

She came downstairs finishing a cigarette from the patio.

Kehlani: Cool it, aunty! This is my friend, Jacquees!

Me: Wait a minute, you're signed to Cash Money!!!

Jacquees: Yes ma'am.

Me: "Yes ma'am"? I'm only 45, I ain't that old now am I?

Jacquees: 45? You look 30, goddamn!

Me: Thanks.

Jacquees: Can I ask you something?

Me: If you're asking me out, the answer is no! The last guy I dealt with was not too much younger than you and we had twin girls together.

Jacquees: That was gonna be my second question. I wanted you to listen to my---

Me: Ohhhh, you want me to hear your mixtape, #Mood right? No need. I already heard it. That ''T-Shirt & Panties" joint with Kirko Bangz is on REPEAT!!!

He looked at Kehlani in confusion and back at me. I blushed.

Jacquees: You really know about ya boy, huh?

Me: I really do.

Jacquees: Sabti?

Me: Rodriquez?

Jacquees: Are you gonna go to Kehlani's listening party?

Me: On next Saturday, right?

Jacquees: Yes.

Me:I'll be there, I always support family.

Jacquees: Okay....I'll see you Saturday, beautiful woman.

I smiled and walked off. I'm not trying to jump into anything new because I have kids to think about but something about this Jacquees kid has got me thinking about things a TAD bit differently.....

A FEW DAYS LATER...

Chris: Man you know you got me FUCKED UP!!!

Me: You better watch who you talk to like that!

Chris: I didn't pull a gun on that girl!

Me: That's not the point! The point is, you've been letting my daughters down time and time again, and I'm not going to drop supervised visitations just because you're giving me your word that you can act right. You can pull this shit on Nia, but I ain't the one!

Chris: I'm always taking care of my kids, man.

Me: I'm not gonna keep fighting with you on this shit. You can't even stay out of the headlines for three months without the media reporting you being reckless in the streets! I don't know when you're going to grow up and be a man, but I won't keep waiting around to find out!

Chris: You aren't perfect, either.

Me: Oh I KNOW THAT!!! I own up to my shit and you need to do the same. One grown person should never have to hell another grown person how to handle business!

I got up and stormed out of his father's house. If I had known how much of a trainwreck Chris was when we met, I would never have had his babies.
