Sometimes I wonder why I came here.
It's barren here, my world of rock and snow. I condemned myself to this place knowing I can never return, but still I suffer a crippling regret. What to say to those I left behind? How to face the cameras, the people? I now know nothing but of blood and fire, and I shall stay this way forevermore.
Only Nemur is aware still of my existence up in these frigid mountain peaks. He keeps my secrets as a faithful friend, and every few days he visits my cave bearing fresh meat, which I will skin and feed him the entrails. For weeks I struggled alone without him as I first ventured out into the land of ice, unable to follow the sure-footed trails of the stone hare and not nimble enough to track the lynxes that slink across the frost. But I have learned from Nemur's wily ways. Those weeks linger no longer.
For years now this has been my home, and in those years I have learned to thrive. With the pulp of crushed berries, I paint on the cavern's walls: the kill that marked my entry into new life; Nemur materializing from howling winds; my family, whom I will never again see, depicted here so that I may gaze upon them if ever I forget their faces. Fire, such a scarcity all that time ago, comes easily to me now, a friend summoned to cook the meat that Nemur provides. I dry the furs by the flame and wear them as coats; I have acclimated well to my environment, yet during the worst blizzards of winter, more than ermine-pelt clothing is necessary.
I have refined my gift here, my treasure, what above all things keeps me alive: to the inferno within, do not fail me now.

Oh my gobstoppers, that's mysterious!
Anyone have any guesses? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Okay, I'll stop. But I had to.
Did anyone notice how I worked the title into the text? JUST SAYING. IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME.
Well, it's getting late, and I've just updated twice in like half an hour. Comment! Vote! It's Snowfall, and peace out!
