Chapter 4
We finished breakfast and all just sat there for a moment. It was a beautiful, summer day in California and there were a million things we could do instead of sitting around the house. I was already feeling a little better because I had gotten some things off my chest; I was back to my energetic self again.
“So are we just going to sit around all day?” I ask the guys as we start to clean up the kitchen together.
“No, we have to take you shopping,” Logan says, plastering fake enthusiasm on his face.
“I’ll be in the Apple Store,” Carlos says excitedly.
“We’re going shopping for her,” James says rolling his eyes.
“Don’t you own half of the Apple Store?” I say rolling my eyes too. These boys with their electronics, it’s unbelievable at how obsessed they are.
“Maybe while we’re out I can buy you a guitar of your own and I can teach you some more stuff,” Kendall offers. I was intrigued, I loved music-but I still didn’t want to go.
“Bribing her,” Logan says rolling his eyes.
“Keep acting like that and you and Los won’t be allowed to go to LIDS,” Kendall says with a smirk.
“What are you, my dad?” Logan says with a chuckle.
“No, he’s more like your boyfriend,” I say with a smirk. The two of them look at me with an unexplainable look. “What? I ship Kogan,” I say with a grin.
“Just no,” Logan says shaking his head.
“Oh come on, you know you love it,” I tell him, “It’s better than shipping Kames. I know a girl who made a t-shirt that says ‘I <3 Kames’ on the back and has a pic of James and Kendall on the front…”
“We will never speak of shipping ever again,” James said with a disgusted look on his face. I looked over at Logan who had an almost satisfied smirk. I rolled my eyes at the two of them and then looked away from all of them.
“Seriously though, you need some new stuff,” Carlos said.
“Who said I wanted to go shopping?” I pipe in.
“You need more clothes and a phone,” Kendall tells me.
“No I don’t,” I tell them.
“You wore that shirt yesterday,” James points out.
“It’s the only long sleeved shirt I have,” I say defensively.
“We’re in L.A. you’re going to die of a heat stroke,” Logan says.
“But it’s exactly our point,” Carlos begins, “The only one you own…”
“Fine I’ll go shopping but I’m not going to a mall…” I say, giving in. It’s not that I didn’t like shopping; it’s that I didn’t feel up to it. It still didn’t feel right that they were going to spend their money on me-not that it’s an inconvenience to them, because they can afford it, but it doesn’t feel right.
