I run,
I run as fast as my feet will carry me. Even as fatigue starts to set in and my legs start feeling like jelly, I run.
Moving through the bushes and leaves, trying to avoid getting smacked by the dark and heavy branches that hang lonely off the trees.
I push the memories that are flooding my mind away and into the deepest corners of my subconscious. I can't think of that right now, I have to get out of this rustic maze of trees.
There, only a few feet in front of me I spot the road. Relief washes over me.
"I'm n...not lost," I whisper to myself.
I set foot on the pavement and race in the direction of my home. Only a block away from here and the street lights illuminate the way. My feet throb but I push on as fast as I can, with every step, with every ounce of energy I have left I run.
My house comes into view, this gives me a second wind and the little bit of energy pushes me up to my porch. I throw myself on the floor right by the door. My breath is trying to escape so I try to catch as much as I can.
Sweat drips down my forehead, glistening with the light of the moon, almost as if I'm glowing.
I let a few minutes go by as my breathing slows and my heart rate calms down just a little. With one hand I push myself to my knees and then back on my aching feet.
I let myself inside my home, closing the door behind me and leaning against it. I let out a sigh of relief and exhaustion.
"Hey," he says softly.
I jump up with fear, my eyes scan all around me trying to find the source of the voice. All the lights are off so I can barely make anything out in the house.
"H...hello," my voice cracks with a twinge of fear.
My hand frantically feels for a light switch, I find it and flip it up. Blinding light fills the room, I can't see anything for a moment but my vision quickly adjusts.
There, standing just on the other side of the living room he looks at me with his dark green eyes.
"Ally, Ally, Ally," he speaks with a soft and calm tone. "That is some trick you pulled earlier in my room." He moves slightly closer to me.
I'm still breathing heavily, my chest rising up and down as I try to put pieces together. My head spins with confusion, what had happened earlier?
The images flash in my mind. Both of us in his room, but I wasn't there of my own free will. Yes we shared amazing moments and being with him was like a dream. Every second a ecstacy filled dream. The way he would make me feel like the only girl in the world. He made my heart race.
But in his room, that was something different... Someone different.
There, in his grasp, my breath escaped me but because his hand was around my neck. My heart pounded against my chest, but because fear gripped my body. He said nothing, he just looked into my soul through my blue eyes. I couldn't seem to blink, I didn't want to take my eyes off of him for even that fraction of a second because if I did... He would kill me.
Have you ever just known that someone was going to be a huge part of your life, whether it be in a good or bad way? He is a bad way, he is the worst way.
"Tell me," his voice stung my heart like a vengeful wasp. "How did you do that?"
I could barely speak, "d...do wha...what?"
That's when I notice the object in his hand, a bow. Not the kind you put in your hair or the kind you put on a birthday present, but a full fledged hunting bow, like the kind you shoot arrows from.
