3: "I Used To Be Just Like You~"

Releasing a small sigh, Hayate looked at Rii. The girl's designs were amazing and all of the members had loved it. There she was now, looking out of the window, with her headphones on. He hesitated to approach her, because she looked so peaceful, and so deep in thoughts.

He walked over to her, and looked at her. "Hey." He sat beside her.

Rii didn't hear Hayate's greeting but she saw him sitting down, and removed her headphones, smiling nervously and bowed.

"Hello, Hayate-san," she smiled, as she moved to make space for the guy. Hayate smiled back.

"Just Hayate is fine by me. What are you listening to?" he inquired. Rii put the headphones to Hayate's ear.

"Ah! AAA-sempai's 'Miss You'?" he grinned. She nodded.

"I love that song," she chuckled. Hayate tilted his head.

"You miss someone??" he asked, curiously. 

"My family...?"

"Ahh~ I see." Hayate said, and went quiet for a moment. They both sat there, in a comfortable silence. 

"I used to be just like you~" Hayate remarked, suddenly. Rii looked at him, confused.

"Hm?"

"I- ah! Never mind," Hayate let out a small laugh, and turned away. 

"I get it," Rii laughed. "I know you used to be really shy when you first came too. I just.. need some time."Hayate nodded.

"Do you sing?" Hayate asked, out of the blue. Rii looked surprised.

"Uh-- well, not really. You wouldn't want to hear me sing," she laughed a little.

"But I wanna!" Hayate insisted. Rii blushed.

"W-what song?" she asked.

"Hmmm, maybe 'TOKI'?"

Rii hesitated and started. 

"Toki wo tomeru yori ima wo ikiyou

Kako wo suteru yori bokura no mirai wo sodatete ikou

Nando mo tsuyo gatte itakedo~"

  Hayate joined her on this note:  

"Tomi ya meiyo yori daijinamono ima ni natte wakatta nda

Soredemo kidzukanai furi shinakya..."

Hayate broke the chorus by a small laugh. Rii laughed too.

"I'm surprised you didn't die of excessive earbleeding," she joked.

"More like excessive... oh,"Hayate came to a pause as he took out his hanky to wipe off the blood that came from his nose.

"Y-you're nosebleeding," Rii stated, alarmed. Hayate shook his head while drowning the hanky in blood.

"I'm fine," he laughed nervously. "You sang great, though. Stop discomplimenting yourself."

"Discomplimenting?? Is that even a word?" Rii-chan laughed. Hayate laughed too.

"I make up words cuz I'm great~" he said, acting smug. Rii blushed again, seeing his cute face.

"Sure you are~" she said, pushing him playfully. Hayate took a deep breathe.

"I hope I have brought you out of your shell, at least towards me," he said, quietly, blushing. 

"You have," the girl smiled.

(Unknown POV)

So it was decided. I would never have her. They seemed so- so attracted to each other, and I knew I wouldn't stand a chance with her. 

Maybe- the best thing I could do is to try to forget my crush on her. I had only seen for for like a week or two. It made no sense for me to fall in love with her. So I'll just forget, and move on...

A/N: LONG TIME NO POST >w< I had ran out of ideas for this chapter. So the "Unknown" person is probably too easy to guess, huh... Not too good at leaving a suspense. xD
