"Mr.malhotra , meet Mr.Murthy...he runs one of the well known cement industries in Los Angeles....Mr.Murthy he is the electrical engineer who is going to help us in our electricity and appliances of our project.." Mr.Allan introduced both of us...we were sitting on the top floor of 10 floor building , having a look of the place's map where we have to invest our work and Mr.Murthy just arrived..

"Nice to meet you Mr.murthy" I said standing up from my seat and shaking hands with Mr.Murthy..

I have heard a lot about him , how he established his reputation...he was devoid of any kind of attitude or arrogance but was a kind man with Indian features...

His name was also Indian so I guessed him to be one..

"Same here " he replied with a smile

"You both make yourself comfortable and I will be back " Mr.Allan said and we both nodded..he went..

"Are you Indian ?" He asked and I looked at him

"Yes" I replied "you too ?" I asked

"Yes " came his reply

"India mn kahan sy ? " he asked coming to our mother tongue..

"Mumbai " I replied

"Same here " he replied and I just smiled in return

Mr Allan came back and we had a discussion....

"Friends !! Since we have signed the deal and we have known each other so well so I would like both of you to visit us tomorrow as it is my wedding anniversary tomorrow " Mr Allan said and I didn't have anything to say other than agreeing...

"Thank you so much.." he said as me and Mr Murthy agreed...we both left..

Nandini's POV

Yesterday dad told me that I have to go with him to Mr Allan's anniversary party..I was ready on time , standing in front of the mirror looking at myself..I wore a plum coloured shoulder less knee length frock reaching up till my knees...I matched the dress with a pair of silver heels and left my hair open after blow drying them..I added a little make up with a light coloured lipstick...

I am dad left for the place and soon reached..We both walked in and then dad introduced me to Mr Allan who introduced me to his wife...they seemed to be nice people..

"Mr Murthy have a nice time " Mr Allan said and excused to attend the other guests..I roamed my eyes around and spotted someone familiar looking at me

Manik !! It was Manik

He was looking very much handsome in navy blue three piece...he looked like a Greek God...

Wait

What is he doing here ??

"Come beta " daddy said and we both walked towards the place Manik was standing with some other men...our eyes were in a contact...I finally saw him moving his gaze and I realised what was I doing...

"Meet them Nandini !! Manik Malhotra the engineer with whom I am working for Mr Allan's project , Mr Wilson and Mr Taylor , they are the most knowing businessmen  " Daddy introduced me to everyone and I greeted everyone...the other two left leaving me , Manik and daddy..

"Dr. Nandini " Manik said extending his hand and I happily shook my hand with his...My hand looked like a baby's in front of him...

"How do you know ?" Daddy asked out of curiosity

"We met before ...at the pharmacy " I said skipping our other meeting as they would have definitely caused daddy to get tensed...someone called daddy and he left....

An awkward silence took place as we didn't know what to talk...

Kya bolun ?

"I didn't know that we will meet again with another different situation " I started a conversation

"Yeah !! Getting another shock on every meeting " he said "btw didn't you tell your father about whatever happened ?" He asked and I knew what was he talking about

"No..he gets very worried for me so that's why I chose to not tell him " I told him

"I understand you but his concern is valid " he added "the trouble you got yourself into was risky " I told

"I came over there to do my job " I said

"You shouldn't have come as it was about your life..kuch ho jata tou ?" He was saying politely

"Then it would have written in my fate " I said

"You are different " he said with a smile and I looked at him with confused expressions but I don't why that I didn't ask him the reason behind his words...

"You should be happy that your father cares for you , wants to see you safe...you are lucky " he said and I felt a pain in his voice

"Ladies and gentlemen " we heard a voice and looked ahead to see a handsome English man dressed in grey tuxedo welcoming everyone and announcing the dance on the celebration of his parents' 25th anniversary

He was Mr Allan's son

Dance

The couples took their places and there I stood all alone...no one was with me to dance with me....

I was fighting with myself when I saw someone offering me a hand..

"Can I dance with you Ms Murthy ?" He asked
